On a Windows box? Reformat the drive/partition. Dunno why'd you want to. Both are equally not-good.

But which is not-worse than the other?

P.S. this is not-weird.

I don't think you even _can_ install Windows on an exFAT partition. Windows Vista and 7 only like NTFS for the system partition.

On a not-entirely-related note, if the rumours are true, and Steam comes out for linux... ^v^ *happy joy*

ext4: Basically ext3 + extents and delayed allocation. It still has numerous issues, even though the kernel development team considers it "stable". I tend to avoid this one because of the issues I've encountered (severe filesystem corruption, kernel panics, etc).
I've been using ext4 ever since it reached stable. Never had an issue, it's lightning fast on my SSD. Plus I see a 10-20% speed increase on my HDD. The issues with delayed allocation leading to corrupt data in rare cases where the power would disrupt before the write was complete have been fixed, so there shouldn't be any problems there anymore.

zfs...
Is ZFS really that much better than ext4? For what I can see there are a load of features normal people won't use (unless you feel like changing your filesystem layout every few days). Plus there is the issue of heavy fragmentation, and there's no defrag utility (aka "ntfs-without-defrag"?, that ought to be fun).

I particularly like the stability I've experienced with ZFS. Snapshots are very convenient, and the volume management features of it are incredible.

As for fragmentation... Like HFS+, ZFS will only fragment when space gets _really_ low. Comparing fragmentation levels to NTFS is very wrong, especially since NTFS' basic policy is to avoid free space fragmentation at all costs (and thus data gets fragmented), whereas nearly any other modern filesystem avoids data fragmentation at all costs. The latter policy is better, especially with storage sizes increasing as they are.
