Pretty simple suggestion. I was thinking that if a player chooses to buy, say, a 10Gq/s modem rather than a 1Gq/s modem, the price for teh 10Gq/s modem should be less than ten times the price for the 1Gq/s modem. Ditto for memory: it should be cheaper to buy 64Gq of memory as one purchase than to buy two 32Gq purchases. Sorry, I had a little trouble wording this |

I can understand the bulk discount idea for the memory (and I think it's in effect... at least, it was in Uplink), but why would you have bulk discounts on a modem, considering that you're only buying one? A 10Gq/s modem should cost ten times as much as a 1Gq/s modem, because you're not packing 10 1Gq/s modems into your computer, you're packing a single, technologically superior 10Gq/s modem. Though your bulk discount should also apply to CPU purchases... but that'd be harder to implement, I believe. Or not, je ne sais pas. -- Griffinhart |

Price of Items in onlink/uplink are just too cheap, it just takes one lucky bank transfer to get enough cash to buy everything. Makes the game feel too short if your not following the storyline plots. It's very hard to follow the storyline plot if you don't keep an eye out aswell. |

i keep having this idea, i think you shouldn't be able to just buy everything... it would be nice to have to hack lotsa servers to get some soft... like adding another plot, this one involving yourself becoming a hacker... someone gives you some mission and you don't have the soft needed, neither it's on sale at uplink... what do you do? luckily there's ANOTHER software selling server but... wait... it doesn't have the (ex.) VDPIN either... so you either hack the server of the company who developed it, or you hack the pc of some hacker you know has it, or you get lucky and find it in some server related in some way to the plot. I'm posting this on ideas, now... : |

Not necessarily. Take RAM sticks for instance -- 1 256mb RAM stick costs more than half what 1 512mb RAM stick costs when you go to OfficeMax or whatever.

Real world ram prices are screwy. I went in to a 2nd hand hardware store n the price of old ram is just as expencive as new ram i was told "Supply and demand" i felt like tellin him where to shove his overpriced ram. |
