Post subject:  Router Hacking, Config File Changer.

I'd like to shed some new light into one of my previous idea's.

Going back to Routers, Back-up servers.

A Router has a Config.xx(x) file (let's pretend we don't have ROM here)

You'll need to break into the Router defeating it's defenses.
After all is done The router might work as an FileServer ( to make things easier )

Now goto the file section and Find the Config.xx(x) files
Delete* or Copy** the file use the Config Changer tool to place a new Config file and gain acess to the Sever effectivelly cutting all it's other transmissions or simply give you more rights***.

*Do your thing and delete all your traces and disconnect if you have deleted the file
** Do your thing and go back to the router place the original File back delete all your traces.
Wait for the news to show up.

System Admin is under arrest after he deleted the company's database.
Police is still searching for a Motive

*** Getting more rights will allow you to hack the server witouth using The bypassing tools, because the system sees you as an Admin.
Disabling the use of these tools will activelly save some RAM.

I hope these Idea's are do-able, and read carefully

EDIT

The config changer tool

The higher the Security level the more RAM and Space the Config File will take.

The higher the level of the Config Changer the more Features are unlocked on the server.

:P forgot bout'that one.

Editing the file would eitther take to much time,
And maybe it isn't possible within Uplink/Onlink to do that.

I'm just making sure that what i think off is possible both for those who play O(U)(p)nlink or those that Code it.

I'd rather have a Good Final Release wich is stable and then later have some hard things of coding added to it.

I don't wanna wait 2 months longer than I have to, just because my idea is a Bitch to code.

File Editor programs are bad...
If you think about it, how many files are in Onlink while it's running? 10-ish for each server... over 100 servers, that's already 1000 files.
Generating meaningful content to go in those files that doesn't get duplicated so that it looks realistic is hard and would take a massive chunk out of your RAM.

So is my Idea obsolete or his Idea?
