i have an idea so you can still play music in onlink, but avoiding the copyrights ect.

many MMORPGs have an mod for playing music.
they let you control an external music player (like Windows Media Player, Winamp etc.)from within onlink. so you can still listen to your music, but onlink dont have to pay for it.

the only HUGE problem about this is that you first need to open your music player before starting onlink :P

Or we could just try to implant Ump3 into Onlink?
If it's allright with the owner.

it's stopped, there was 1, but it was removed because of copyright problems

It is still available on Modlink, so i guess the damage is little, the coders could also decompile the source and see what they can come up with.

All I need to do is edit a single line to enable the in-game MP3 player.

One (big, huge, uber) problem. Having an mp3 player, freeware or not, in a game lands a price of $2,500 US.

I don't have that kind of money.

you didn't understand, if my plan works, you dont need an mp3-player, just an music player CONTROLLER, so we dont have to pay, we only control it. so micro$oft is still good for something. if you dont believe me, world of warcraft has also this kind of mod, i use it when i play it, but no1 pays for it.

Have an OGG vorbis player in Onlink and provide a Convert MP3 to OGG tool with it :)

I think the idea is for Onlink to have a DDE control system.

There are plenty of mIRC scripts around that use mIRC's inbuilt DDE broadcast system to control Winamp, etc.

I think it could work quite well.

The thing is, when I'm playing I want the Onlink music. It creates the atmosphere. I don't want System of a Down blaring out of my speakers when I'm deleting logs.

But aren't you downing the system? :P

Anyway, on a serious note, if anyone can implement this, I am interested. Email me, eh? :P

DDE isn't that hard to implement.

Google is your friend, you know...
