I think the File Copier and File Deleter should have a version you can upgrade to, that stays open after use, like the Log Deleter and Decrypter usually do. That way you can use them again without having to go back into the "start menu"

If you are talking about the file copier and deleter I think it would be good to add also support for key bindings. I think it would be much faster to run and control programs via keyboard.

ah, you mean hotkeys? just press CTRL+X and the File Deleter comes up?

    That would be nice.

Hey Onlink guys, what do you think of these ideas?

I think that it's a good idea for the File_Deleter (in fact, I just added it), but for the File_Copier, to me anyway, it seems to make less sense to have it open... I say that specifically because of the > 2.0 version, which automatically transfer the file to your databanks.

If you think otherwise, let me know. Popular option is more important than just mine ;)

Wouldn't you still have to open 10 copies of the File_Copier to copy ten specific files? It gets annoying to go into the "start" menu and locate the program so many times. That's the problem I want gotten rid of.

    Cool, so now there's a File_Deleter v2?
Which idea did you add? the hotkey idea or mine?

Oh, and, as for the hot-keys... rock-on. I'll see how to go about that ;)

Tell me what you would like to see do what ;)

Also, I'll make File_Copier v1.0 like that, > 2.0 will close when done. (it'll work better, trust me)

Well, I was thinking of assigning key combos to mimic the Windows key combos. Like CTRL-C for File Copier, CTRL-X or DEL for File Deleter, etc.

Maybe you should let the player assign their own key combos.
Yeah :D like add a utility you can buy, that allows you to assign hotkeys to certain things.

Maybe even have a limit to the number of shortcuts you can have at a time, and then you can have different versions of the utility, each allowing more shortcuts than the last. For example:
    Quote:
HUD_HotKeys v1 costs 10,000c and allows you to assign programs to the F1, F2, and F3 keys for quick access. Of course you can re-assign any hotkey to another program/task at any time.

HUD_Hotkeys v2 also allows for things to be assigned to F4 and F5

But let those hotkeys put a nice drain on your CPU, we don't want to make Onlink too easy ... like shutting down a mainframe in 3 seconds o_O

Miah has informed me that he wants to use hotkeys, but to hard wire them into the system, not as a separate utility.

Well then there shouldn't be something like hotkey-macros, only like Alt+F10 => File Copier :)

How about having a secret key combo which changes every time you load to throw up goatse fullscreen?
    Lovely.

(Note: If you don't know goatse, just google image search for it. Or ask Dave2)

I realy like the idea of having the file tools stay open after they complete.
    like the log delete works...
the most anoying thing to me is having to load up 10 file copiers to be able to quickly copy a fileserver.
so many of the missions call for copying or deleteing many files at once.

i like the ideas about hotkeys too, maybe this would be an alternative to having the file tools stay open, if it was easier to open them that going in though the anoying ( and sometimes glitchy ) start menu.

i read some where about the file copier should copy everything from the system to your memory.....what would you do if you want to only copy one file
and also what if you dont have enough room in your memory

maybe make anoth tool to copy everything from selected memory to target memory....different versions compress it?!?

but i would like to see the file deleter to stay open

    Fishy
