Why not have missions where you have to rape people? That'd be fun. Hehe, only joking... Seriously, we need a world news server in the game that generates REAL news, not just teh haxor news. Like "Some ho got raped in downtown Derby today..." or "Pork prices rose today as a deadly new pig virus struck..." But realistic news. Not silly. Like me. Kthx. |

you complain about me posting all of the things i think would improve the game, you moan cause my post count is high but what is this, a server that generates news? what kind of news? must kyuu add code so that onlink connects to some news server and takes headers then puts them into the game... or just generate random ones i dont see how this adds to the game, random news is completly pointless unless you find it funny, and if you want news go out get some sun, buy a news paper, or if you cant go into the sun, then go and turn on the tv watch the news, or if you are too lazy to get off your ass *clicky* *click* hey guess what you can read headlines on the net actually if your too damn lazy to type click here i even gave you a link |

I have an RSS news toolbar that alerts me to news from BBC news and Slashdot. I read newspapers. I read technology magazines. I read New Scientist and Scientific America. I watch the news every weekday morning on TV. I watch online technology news shows (The Broken, etc). The idea is for REALISM. |

you know, since there is already a new server...what about having news stations. You can hack multiple stations and even into their Supercomputers to change around the data. and watch as they slowly drain (moneywise) whie trying to fix or find a problem. Iono, it was random but mabe someone can add or change it into something useful.  Aftrer all, there are many times when the Weather reports arent accurate...but does anyone ever stop to wonder why with all that tech...what could have caused it?

This would make the game less entertaining. I wouldn't want to weed through junk news just to try and figure out what news pertains to the game. Example: "Business Man Shot Dead In Street" Do I interpit this as some sort of story line in the game is taking place? There is a crime syndicate and I should expect to see some follow up of the story, finding the criminal or naming the syndicate? Simple news items may add to the realizm, but I think players would tend to try and interpit each news item as a game event and not as just game fluff. |

i like burning's idea. onlink isn't complete. maybe an ingame rss reader would be nice. or jsut a news server with random news. InterNEWS would be a nice name. all news will be here. hacking news in the hacking section, software news (http://www.onlink-mod.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=576)in the technologie section. etc. |

Exactly. Uplink ISM for hacker news. InterNEWS for world news. Hey, you could even throw in some missions related to it, like posting news articles with faked photos to discredit a politician. |

Breakig it up into a seperate server would be good, that would help avoid confusing the player with evets that aren't directly related to his hacking career. |
