I'm surprised that I hadn't thought of this one 'til now. It's easy to implement, too. Just combine the "steal database from a LAN" with "destroy a computer system". Should be one or two levels of difficulty higher than a regular "destroy a computer system" contract.

isn't that available in the game already?

You meen this mission, where a rival company hires you because the competing company did the mistake to put all the relevant data on one system (in this case a LAN) and you shall take it to rest permanently.
In which case you have to hack the LAN-Central-Server and erase usr, system, log and shutdown as usual, right?

Think I just did that yesterday.

Funny, I've never encountered a "crash a LAN" mission. I've found "wipe data on a LAN" and "steal data on a LAN", but not a "crash a LAN".

I just ran across one the other day actually.. mass accepted the destroy a computer system missions and one of the was the Protovision LAN.... ended up abandoning it however as the main server was 2 links away from the router (router to hub then to main server) so after spending forever breaking open the locks and whatnot.. I'd have about 5 seconds before the system admin found me in the LAN... not even enough time to delete the usr directory let alone continue to the sys directory and run shutdown as well.

    4-month grave dig.

Not a great thing to do your first day here.

My apologies, didn't mean to gravedig, only to add an example to his previous post

Gravedigging is far more acceptable than starting a new thread about the same topic.

And I take the Stickied post to mean that gravedigging is really only to be frowned upon for the useless "bump" posts. Any post which adds to, or expresses confusion with, or asks for clarification on, or continues a discussion--however long it is delayed--is activity on the forum, which seems like a good reason for a post to me.
