I have two requests for save features.

First of which is a save game feature for saving the game at the given time (so that if you mess up, you don't have to start from scratch, becuase sometimes that is really frustrating)

Second is for the connection bouncing window. When you save the connection bouncing, would be nice to save it within a 1 gigaquad file that you can load different setups (by a user input name) from the file.

Love the game. Thanks for some great entertainment.

The game auto saves for you. Just backup your files, don't make extra code for something that is already there.

About the bouncing, heck why do you need "configs" just make one default bouncing and build up from there.

Like skyblownet mentioned above, the game automatically saves whenever you quit (and I believe it also saves within the game periodically, but I've no conclusive proof of such). If you want a save feature just so you can reload because of a foul-up... well, Uplink (the original game) was designed with the intent that such a thing should not be possible, and I imagine that Onlink is designed with such intent as well. If you really need to back up your saves though, you can do so by going to the "users" directory in the Onlink/Uplink install directory. All save files are stored there.

As for the multiple bounce paths thing... uhm, why? You only need one.

    Possibly backups?
I once had a really good bounce path, but I accidentally clicked save instead of load.

Then just bounce again and save. Shouldn't be too difficult unless you're using insane amounts of low-security systems. I usually use only banks (I create an account on all of them, since I think it takes longer to trace through a bank if you have an account there), government-owned (uh, is there a "-" there? :-/) systems and the ones which are automatically listed in the beginning of the game.
When the game progresses, I add gateways (I don't remove them from the list, since it saves the trouble of getting the link from an Internal Services System).

    Yeah...

I use every single phone line as a bounce. I get trace times in the thousands of seconds.

But what about diffrent connections for the frame missions?
    Oh well.
    *Makes a less insane bounce*

Well, when I'm framing someone for a bank fraud, I only use internic and a single bounce point, then I connect directly to the bank, run a random disabler and start cracking the admin password after the tracing starts. Then I disconnect immediattely and modify the logs.

As for the destruction of data, usually I only use four or five bounce points. It takes only about five seconds to delete the stuff if you have a couple of 500gHz processors and give the file deleter everything your gateway has got.

And computer crimes? Well, AFAIK either of these work. IMHO getting the bounce path from the memory would be even slower than just clicking a maximum of 'bout 7 systems :-/
