Ok so heres the basic premise, one company has software thats very close to its launch date. You get a time constrained mission, to replace some or all of the source files, with modified source files provided by the company that hired you. When the software launches theres all sorts of bugs and it fails horribly.

Kinda like the "replace a file mission" someone suggested but with a time limit - I like it.

it would be better if/when i implement a dev center. then you would even need to compile the binary on the server.

I already have started to make a dev environment for the gateway. maybe i could do it on remote systems.

or maybe you need to compile it locally and replace it on the server.

I think I'll shoot for something like this in 0.1.3, since it would fit with what's added.

A Dev environment within uplink? That's ill, I'd never heard of that, I really like the one from Dark Signs.

If you were here in the infant times (Original Beta4), you would have seen it. It was a local interface that acted much like a console.

If you want, I have a rather dubious copy of a markup that you can look at, but I cannot support it, since the source for it was lost. And it was dodgy. So I'm changing it muchly.

I was here for beta 4, I've been here since Onlink was a text only site, with no downloads, and looked a lot like vaporware :). Seriously though, I wonder how I missed that.

    That would be great!

ARC could have you test revelation by inserting its code into some sort of retail or commercial software (an anti-virus program would be best :) ), and then you read the news on all the destroyed systems and lawsuits. Meanwhile, you collect major mula from your shorts on the company in the stock market or your investments in their competitors
