Random idea: Instead of using that "Start" menu to launch programs, can't there be a right-click function? Then launching a password breaker, for instance, would be: hover over target password entry, right click > Crackers > Password breaker. ~ Eleazar |

I searched here on this, and I am surprised I didn't find anything! :O Great idea, wish I would have thought of it. Seeing as Onlink uses SDL (right?) then right clicks should be a couple commands away. I saw a post about Simply Uplink and I figured it might be in there... maybe not... |

I know - I searched too Using right click would also allow you to remove the Services button completely, and free up taskbar space. Then you can condense "Hardware", "Status" and "Finance" into one button - "Player Status", keep the Memory Bank button and replace the "Email" button. So that's: Player Status Memory Bank Notepad Email Client HUD_ConnectionAnalyser HUD_Lanview HUD_IRCClient C++ Client (?) Gateway Console (?) Something like that, anyway. But now I'm getting too far ahead of myself ~ Eleazar |

Yeah, something like rightclick -> System Tools > Programs > Other > And then it branches off from there. |

Or: Right click > == Bla == Status: > Hardware > Financial > Player Services: > Email Client > C++ Client > Gateway Console HUD: > Connection Analyser > Lan View > IRC Client But I think that may be putting too much into one menu. If you have a console on your main interface, then maybe something like: Quote: /:>cd usr
... could also work. Make the game a little more detailed, too usr:>run email_client ~ Eleazar |

I don't like consoles as much, less fluid and not always easy to use... But do you mean categories in the menus when you said ==Bla== ? P.S. Stop taking my monopoly away from me |

Well, by categories I mean more like titles for the menu like: ==System Tools== File Tools Performance Other ==Hacker Tools== Passwords Encryptions Cyphers Bypassers Other ==Other== IP Tools Other Internet Tools Tutorial That kind of thing. But I guess if Miah/Tycho implements it then they will decide what to go with. (My monopoly on teh forum |

After the addition of the 0.1.3 C++ compiler, I intend to do a bit of an overhaul of the interface. This would include such things as a decent email client (not real, just for game use) that won't continue to clutter the bottom right section. I will consider this addition as well. |

I like the idea of having an update themed around one particuliar aspect of the game, I hope you will do this once every while, between 2 big updates, you could have an update themed around things like new softwares/hardwares, interface improvement, new missions (based on the existing servers), new security systems, special servers, unique LANs, side story arcs... You announce the theme of the next update before hand, we post our ideas around that theme, then you pick the ones you like best and implement them.I think it could revitalize the Future forum as for a certain time period we could all brainstorm on a single theme, and it would also give us some sort of hope in the next update because if an update is themed around interface overhaul and we submit some to improve the interface, we would easily know when we should expect to see our ideas implemented or discarded. |
