I made some words about upcoming features I'm working on.

The thread will only be peopled by those that actually develop, so here's more or less a "discussion" thread so that you may provide feedback/rage/ego-stroking.

(Woah I forgot I even had an account here)

I started to read and began by thinking "Yeah, I guess he's right that bandwidth serves almost no purpose." Eventually that moved into "This is going to make the game much more difficult."

Then I read:

P.S.: Guess what end of the spectrum InterNIC lies?
You're pure evil.

So cleaning your logs will finally be a challenge, huh! 8)

I myself use the up.link test machine... It's probably unaffected.

I love optimists. They're so cute.

No, every computer is affected insofar as having a maximum bandwidth. What that maximum is will vary, however.

As if VSEC 3 wasn't enough -_-

tbh it sounds like a needed feature....but couldn't you implement it later...like..much later...3.3.0 perhaps? :P

Hey Miah, are you still planning on implementing the C++ compiler?

on another note, will there be any way to search through the jumps to find ones that have a greater or equal bandwidth to yours? Seems like it would be a needed feature for late game.

That's more or less the function of the now-not-greyed-out HUD button that's on the lower left.

More on that one later, since it's not done. You won't have a pretty map like me, but you will have appropriate tools for line testing.

I'm mostly surprised that it's taken this long for Miah to bring the nerf-bat to the bastion of happiness and anonymity that is internic. It's a much simpler way of inducing rage than lifting servers or the other devices of hell are lined up.

Well, now ain't that something! The new keymaps interface is looking beautiful, Miah! :classy:

I'm glad I helped you to see how important the keymaps are. Nothing beats being able to bypass everything by hitting f5 to f11 with some clicks (connection analysis - bypassers)

a VERY useful feature for hotkeys would be the ability to cycle forward/backwards through the list of accepted missions (even more-so since you can sort by server). Not sure if its possible but its a pain to open > close > repeat, specially when you have a low trace timer and a batch of missions to do on one server.

Good idea, I'd like that possibility too. But if you think it's such a pain, maybe you're unaware that right clicking the mission interface takes you back to the main interface? It helps shaving time.

lol I totally forgot about that :P. Still a hotkey would help cut down even more (for those 30 second jobs)
