The File Copier v2 automatically places downloaded files from a remote server into your gateway data banks, but it can't do that vice versa. F.E. selecting a file from my own memory with File Copier v2 won't automatically place it in the file server of the machine I'm connected to. Is this a bug, or intended feature? |

I've been a big fan of Uplink and still am. I've lurked and watched the progress of Onlink on and off for 5 years now. The work the devs have done so far is marvelous. In my opinion, it is at the very least a truly inspiring piece for junior programmers like myself and a clear motivator to keep on going. At it's best it's a nagging, continuous reminder to try and create something of my own in the future. So thank you for all the time you have invested in this fresh new rendition of Uplink. Keep up the good work on Onlink and in the case that it's only bug fixes from now on, all the best with Kite and hope to have the chance to play an alpha version of it (even if it means paying for an 'early access' version and I'd gladly do that if it means it will even be 75% as epic as Onlink). |

Well, it's supposed to be like that. Think about it, if you wanted to move files around in your own memory banks, how would you do that if clicking them with the file copier just copied them to whichever file server you're currently connected to?On an unrelated note, the forums seem to be somewhat bizarre right now. Here's what I've run into so far (tested on Firefox, Chrome, and I.E.): - Trying to read private messages results in Code: General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]
Duplicate entry 'notification.type.pm' for key 'type' [1062]
- Page browsing buttons are missing from thread pages. Changing parameters in the links seems to be the only way to browse right now.- Replies are missing both regular (reply, report) and moderator buttons. Oh, and happy 2015 everyone! |

As a uplink veteran (err, TERMINAL), This game was AWESOME, even though i know every trick in the book, i know the Uplink game inside out, this game was extremely challenging, as a (self proclaimed) expert, i barely make it. Impressive! |

on the x64 edition build on win7 x64 sp1, it tends to enter an infinite cpu-eating loop when logging out after playing a while. does not happen on the x86 build. also, it doesn't save the refresh rate in options, making it impossible to have any other refresh rate than 100 (both x86 and 64) |

go to Uplink Internation Bank, create a new account, disconnect from uplink bank, connect back to the bank, delete your new account, then try to enter your delete account, and it will be removed from the list of known usernames/password, but then try to go into your original account with autofill, and it will fill in some much longer password, and tell you that you entered the wrong username/password |

also, seems impossible to do the "frame this user for computer crime" mission in this save. i have tried several ways, hacking a bank account, hacking GCB, deleting a Centrain Mainfram - all while waiting for the timer to go to 2 seconds, then i disconnect and change the internic log.. could be that im doing it wrong, but i don't think so.. (my best guess is that there's a bug here somehwere making this misison impossible to complete) |

yup.. Nothing i do, short of going to GCD and arresting him myself, will get Rico Palmer arrested, not bank hanks, not crashing internal service machines, not crashing central mainframes, nothing. and if i arrest him myself on GCD, i get "mission failed - he was arrested, but not for computer crimes" (or something along those lines) - even though i arrest him for High Tech Fraud, apparently that doesn't count as a computer crime (another bug? :p ) |

also "frame user for bank fraud" mission seems to be bugged/impossible: I went to bank, with only 4-5 bounches, then went to their admin section, bypassed their B.monitor, started the Proxy Killer, waited until the Proxy Killer got the trace started, then started cracking the password ; cracked the password, and when the Proxy Killer said "Success!", there was 2 seconds until they'd trace me, so i disconnected. then i went to internic and changed the logs, then i waited 3 days...nothing. im assuming this mission is also bugged/impossible atm |

on this save, the x86_64 build crash EVERY TIME you try to log out, while the x86 edition doesn't have any problem. and it's 100% reproducible, just log in and log out..

Release time ! As always, you can find the new version using theses links: Windows: http://ferrousmoon.com/OnlinkSetup-0.2.5.exe Linux: http://ferrousmoon.com/onlink.tar.gz There are a couple of things that have changed. First off, I removed the x86_64 version. I will put it back once I manage to make it stable. Next is a new argument parser to simplify things in case of issues. The argument parser help hasn't been done yet but I'm leaving a small guide until then. A new interface as been added thanks to hans henrik. Enjoy the new connection manager. Finally the framing user mission should be working (that mission has always been a bit unruly). The parser has 6 switches: -s SAVEFILE if you want to save elsewhere --windowed --noaudio --nomusic --safe enables safe mode -r 1024 768 set resolution Changelog: - Replaced argument parsing system - Partially fixed the framing user mission - WorldMap will now display names for nodes that are not selected - Added new connection manager interface (replaces manual dialer) - Added compressor v5.0 and Z+FS (check the research center for these) - Fixed users not being displayed in irc interface |
