I'll collect the other bugs I find in this post:

1. While trying to hand in a "trace recent payment" mission, I always get the following assert: https://gist.github.com/EoD/c0b20a8fe4f ... ission-bug
I figured out why it went wrong. I had a second account on a different bank which I selected as "main account" (in the finance menu). After closing it, the game didn't automatically switch to another account. So it probably tried to give money to my old and closed account.

2. In the mission "TraceUser": When I enter the name of the hacker (not the owner of the account) the game crashes: https://gist.github.com/EoD/c0b20a8fe4f ... ug-2-sound
When I enter the name of the account holder I get an email saying that I specified the holder but not the hacker.

3. I also encountered a lot of distorted sound while hacking a LAN (removed about 85% of repeating errors): https://gist.github.com/EoD/c0b20a8fe4f ... ug-2-sound
The distortion ended after a while and it was fine for a while. Then it started again and somehow it fixed itself again. It seems that both sound "restores" are related to the warning.

Do you have a pure x86_64 or x86_x32 system? You need at least have multilib for x86_32 in order for it to work properly.
What version of glibc are you using?

Note: x32 is not the same as 32-bit Linux!

It worked before the update, and does not work after the update, so I guess it has nothing to do with libraries or platform or such...
For the record:
Code:
Linux ubuntu 3.2.0-67-generic #101-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jul 15 17:45:51 UTC 2014 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Oh yes. Apparently the new version 0.2.5-b6-71-g2f0f069 of onlink is 64-bit and your system is 32-bit only. The old versions were all 32-bit.

I've noticed that Onlink still has a old version/site header and decided to modify it to be actual again, it's just the smallest of changes, just rewriting it... took me less than 10 minutes, so if you wanted to put it in game, here.

Edit
Code:
bash: ./onlink: cannot execute binary file
Just do chmod +rwx onlink , fixed everything for me...

His problem wasn't related to an non-executable file and you shouldn't do a +rwx. If you want to make it executable you do
Code:
chmod +x onlink-x86*
although onlink has already been executable on all releases except this one.

Well, back from the dead I guess. Sorry about the hiatus, I'll start testing this new baby immediately! :classy:

Edit: oh my, already found a blocker. Filed on the zilla.

If you are referring to bug 289, it does not apply for the Linux 32bit version. Yesterday I did a LAN with 3 dialup modems (and of course a session key), and had no problems at all.

That blocking bug should be fixed now (and a new version has been pushed). It also affected linux users but in a less dramatic way.

Greetings! New user here, avid player of Uplink and all, and jumping right into the bug, same one that the user "temp44" got: mission is not complete when wiping out a system entirely. So unless I am missing something and there is a hidden objective other than destroying the system and killing the backup server, it looks like a bug of some sort.

Also, for the record: I have been following Onlink on and off since quite a few years ago, and I must say I am ecstatic that this project is still moving.

-I noticed this in older versions too, but disablers are not affected by the CPU usage. I'm not sure if this is intended or not.

I think this is still be a problem.

In game play, Killer has no risk than Disabler. its more cheaper, and even faster than disbler.

disabler needs to be upgraded when encounter higher security. but killer doesn't need it

what is main differents between disabler and killer has? CPU still doesnt effect to disabler.

it makes me feel confused. I think its not intended too. plz fix disabler makes more faster(related with CPU) or anything balanced.

thx to making onlink. this is great hacking game I ever played.

After today, I must say, that the money re-distribution in onlink is at least funny... I started out with just one trace a recent balance transfer mission... which split into three different transactions, from which the last one split into two more, from these two, the latter split into two more, and each of these last two passed some money to another accounts, but that wasn't worth the effort... So, in the end, instead if just going to 2 accounts, I got into 8, and got myself more than 3Mc One's got to love it though, so much money in just 45 minutes. :classy:
