The way gameshark on Ps2 works, is they buy cheap games or blank factory pressed DVDs generally from bankrupt companies. Cut the middle out and glue it to their dvds, any chance doing the same thing would let me homebrew on my PS2?

Probably yes. The thing is, as far as I know, Gameshark doesn't have any legal issues with Sony. So, unless you're planning on sacrificing one of you games, you could have trouble for selling homebrew content (as I don't think the companies would sell their blank CDs in small amounts). Unless you somehow have access to this material, anyway.

Nintendo DS homebrew is much easier to pull off, frankly...

No doubt about DS homebrew, in all honesty its more of an intellectual curiosity thing then anything else and could it be applied to other systems? Imagine the possibilities, buy a $5 game cut the inner ring out, glue it to a rewritable DVD and you have yourself a ghetto dev kit.

What about Wii then? All you gotta do is have Twilight Princess and you have a world of homebrews on the reach of an SD Card!

Don't forget Xbox. MechAssault, Agent Under Fire, or Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory will all mod your xbox. Then you got trainers, mods, media players, web browsers, even linux or windows.
