allright - forked the project on github, read the help, commited my patch.

since you did in your fork, too, i wonder if there would have been a way to merge your commit into my fork (so we are on the same level, have the same commit-messages for same patches?). i think cloning your project and doing a merge would be a way, but a way to merge just one commit (since there might be others at some future time)? did not work with git yet nor with github... well, i'll find out!

can't say more about the fontpath, since i've never messed with the fontpath but now.

No worries, Tycho can just pull from you.
One other thing, why is Cerberus using MS fonts? In Ubuntu, you have to install a specific package in order to use them, which some people may not have. I think it should be reconsidered.

Get some opensource font and provide it with the game. No annoying linking or installations.

Buh buh buh BUMP. Sorry guys, I need to ask something.

Will we be using completely new ways to handle our gateways different than how Uplink/Onlink did so, or will we be using a refreshed version of the same system? I just want someone to elaborate on the supposed plan, if we do have one.

Handle them in what way?

Gosh darn it - another bit of a bump. Need to stop now while I'm ahead.

My main question was whether you were, in essence, going to recycle the Gateway plan from Uplink (in which you merely have the ability to add parts to a predefined gateway system) or if you would come up with something different, per say, more flexibility and complexity for advanced users (as how low level programming would be to programmers), such as a feature about keeping the space around parts unoccupied by other parts also requiring cooling to gain an airspace bonus for the performance of the gateway. Please do not regard this as a suggestion, but you could take it as one if you truly want to. It only serves as an example in creativity.

Bottom line: Will you pertain to using the customization of gateways as in Uplink: Hacker Elite, or will you be deciding on something a little.. different?

(Dammit SiN, you were babbling again about your ideas.)

As far as I know, both Miah and Tycho are busy with school, so no Cerberus goodies just yet.

Doesn't school just ruin everything?

Especially when you have an art class that deals out (on a regular basis) 6 hours of homework per week, a game design class that has you making physical games, a game history class that has assigned in the past four weeks 7000 words worth of writing (3 2k word papers and 1 1k word paper, all in thesis format), a calculus class that you haven't done any of the homework for because you've been doing work for the previous three classes, a C++ programming class that you keep falling asleep in and barely doing the work for, and also you have to design and produce a computer game (in ASCII) with a team of four other people, two of whom have the exact same courseload as you.

Also this is only 20 credits.

The Sciencey path is a piece of cake. I'm taking 16 credits and I get a maximum of 1 homework assignment per class per week, for a total of maybe about 6 hours (maybe). I don't know what school you're going to, but it sounds like hell. My game history class didn't have any essays involved, and I only had to make two games so far, one physical for my intro to game design class, and one text adventure for designing interactive narrative. This semester I actually have Wednesdays off which due to a bizarre scheduling situation gives me a 5 day weekend coming up.

Fuck no. BAGDers had to do ART101 first semester. I'm BSGD.

Believe you me, if I were in the BAGD or BFA programs, I wouldn't be taking any math or programming classes. I wouldn't have the time.
