Oh, such a haste... No offense intended, but why don't you code your own mod and see how long does it take you?

Patience, my child...

There's been progress, he just hasn't posted any updates.

Heheh. I came back here after... a long time.

Only to see a shiny new release underway. Yay!

I've been falling behind.

Not on the code, but the tracking. Probably because I don't like doing it.

The current count is 65. That's after an internal beta release and the closing of 13 new tasks that originated from reports from that release.

To be honest, I've not been keeping up with the progress list even with THEM. I know, shame on me.

You ever hear of the story of the Tortoise and the Hare? Well, Onlink is the Tortoise. Dunno what exactly is the Hare, but you should get my point.

If you can't understand that, then maybe I should stop beating around the bush: Time = Quality

You could also say "Time = A Lazy Developer," but I seriously doubt that applies here.

Hmm, I should find better analogies for the future.

I'm really looking forward for 0.2.0, sounds interesting :)

Will the saves from earlier onlink games (<=0.1.2) be compatible with 0.2.0?

Not a chance. Everything's changed far too much. I mean *everything*.
  • The date you start is now 2020
  • There are females (person class thus changed)
  • Companies have different sizing parametres
  • There is a new storyline
  • There are multiple new systems types
  • Agent rankings and actions are recalibrated
  • Missions are rebalanced
  • There are new hardware types. In fact, there wasn't even a hardware class before, and now there is.
  • Nameservers and their records have been entirely redone
  • The size of the world and it's objects is 2.5x what it was in 0.1.2 and still generates faster
  • Notepad and Notes are reclassed
That's just off the top of my head.

In short, there's so much changed, it would just be better to start over. Adding in any backwards compatability would probably set the timeline back a month. Or more.
