    Anyone using Chrome yet? Comments?

I love it, it's fast and hasn't crashed yet. I can even see a performance increase over using Firefox 3.

Hmm, I was about to post the part in the license which says Google has rights to everything submitted through Chrome, but a quick search turned up this.

Ah well, I haven't tried Chrome myself yet, and probably won't either until a non-beta (or whatever you call it) version is out, I have a betaphobia when it comes to browsers.

Google said it borrowed language from other products, "in order to keep things simple for our users," when it inserted the copyright provision in the Chrome license.

    Do I smell bullshit?

Well, that part from the license has been removed, as it was clearly an accident. Also, I'm using Chrome on Linux here with some Wine hacks. It is much slower than on Windows this way, but at least I can test it. And I must say, I really like it. Can't wait for the Linux version to be completed :D.

I personally find Chrome pointless. It's just using WebKit underneath, which is what Safari uses. Get Safari for Windows, and you've essentially got the same thing except with a more advanced user interface.

Until Google puts something unique into Chrome, I will believe it's merely hype.

Uh, how about the whole "each tab is its own memory space and so you don't have to quit the application to free up all the memory" thing? Or the "shitty javascript in one tab won't freeze your whole browser" deal? That's what's nicest to me. Safari gets damn big after a few days of being left open.

Chrome has already proven to be the most stable out of any other browser because of it's unique process and memory management. Oh yeah, the UI is pretty neat too.

I dunno, my roommate has it and it seems like it's still got some kinks to work out.
But it's only been out a week so that's to be expected.

Coming from the IT security amateur; Google Chrome does have many features that track and invade privacy...

Everything Google does has many features that track and invade privacy, so that's no real surprise.

It does have a new Javascript Engine called, erm V8, that compiles Javascript into native code (not byte code). e.g. its fast.

SquirrelFish (Safari's JS engine) compiles to native code too.

And SquirrelFish Extreme makes SquirrelFish look silly.
