Incase you don't already know Basshunter is a Eurodance artist who sings songs about IRC bots and DoTa.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OzWIFX8M-Y (This song title translated to English is We're sitting on Ventrilo playing some DoTa

What I want to know is do people actually listen to this.

At least people DID listen to it. There was a huge ruckus If "ruckus" can be used here when "Boten Anna" came out, I haven't heard from the band for ages tho'.

Personally I found "Boten Anna" quite funny when I heard it for the first time, but not after that. Same goes for "Vi sitter I Venten och spelar DotA " (In case you didn't know, that's "We're sitting on Ventrilo playing some DoTa" in Swedish). I don't even know about other songs.

I don't know much about Basshunter, but I don't think it's very popular (Well heck, a year or so ago they performed in a local night club. I wasn't there tho, for some reason ;p).. Except among Swedish nerds, possibly :3

What I think is, that Basshunter was probably popular for a couple of months or so, but not anymore. Like I said, I haven't heard a word from the band for ages. I don't live in Sweden though, so it's hard to say :-/

The track 'Now you're gone' and 'All I ever wanted' (based on the tracks DotA and Boten Anna) are massive hits in the clubbing scene near me in the UK. I wish they were translations instead of re-writes though.
