Post subject:  So You Want to Join the Onlink Team?

I did a search on "join onlink team" and came up with 4 posts, none that answered the topic question.

So, what are the requirements to join as a:
  • Mod/Admin?
    Developer?
    Tester?
    Graphic Artist?
I think it'd be nice to have a topic where new users can see what they need to join the Onlink team. Plus, I'd like to know. And it's completely possible that someone will tell me to contact Tycho, Miah, or prophile. I'm completely fine with that.

I'm pretty sure it's a "don't call us, we'll call you" approach. If we need help we'll ask for it.

I dunno about the rest, but as for becoming mod/admin, I think Onlink follows the unspoken rule (that is always spoken for whatever goddamned reason).

Don't ask. If you have to ask, you'll never become a mod/admin.

Yeah, I thought so.

We have had some troubles with the honesty of the people who apply directly to us, but we don't mind direct applicants.

As far as the forum goes, if I see someone who's active for an extended period of time, isn't a troll, and has a finely tuned intellect, I generally suggest to Miah that we make them a forum moderator.

I can see the first two applying to me... but the last one?

I mean, I know I'm Asian, and that makes me infinitely more intelligent than most people... but c'mon. I'm carrying a C in Honors PreCalculus right now. And probably in AP Physics too.

You could be just lazy.

I know I am.

I used to think my problem was laziness. It's not. I discovered that the actual problem is that I don't care about things I believe to be irrelevant. For instance, mathematics. But when I have a programming project, I work at it for extremely long periods of time with no rest.

Lazy enough to not do the homework, but I often find myself confused about or simply not comprehending/understanding/grasping mathematical concepts, especially those that have to do with graphing. I really, really, really hate graphs.

I've been here longer than FinalWarrior, so that means I'm either a troll or my IQ isn't 137.

I took some tests, my IQ averages 139.

And judging by my post count, I must be a troll. I guess it's because of my encounters with He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. ;)

Post subject:  Re: So You Want to Join the Onlink Team?

There was a bit of a dispute over how the application process should go.

To be perfectly clear: Do not apply over an informal communication means! This means NO INSTANT MESSENGERS. It's impossible to keep good documentation with instant messenging, so please either snail mail us or email us. Since my email is hosted by Google, my emails are forever.

So when applying, please state your full name, contact information, position you want to have, reasons you'd be best for the position, etc. It doesn't hurt to include a resume or CV or other qualifying materials. :)

Post count has nothing to do with trolling...

I don't think that word means what he thinks it means.

PS. I took the Facebook IQ test thingy, scored 133. Or 132, I can't be assed to check.
