I'm not going to bother entering the IQ debate (a cookie to the first people to correctly guess mine).

I will say, however, that Tycho is a bit off on the IQ thing; it's definitely a plus, but humility is as important.

Forum moderators need not apply. Ever. If you do, you'll probably never be considered after that. There is no prerequisite to being a mod, so there's no reason I would pick a person because of who they are, what they do, and certainly not the length of time they've been here.

As for devs, we require four things:

1) Proof of purchase of the DevCD
2) Proof of competency
3) Audit (don't ask what it's for, that's basically between me and Tycho. Suffice is to say that we'll be interviewing applicants together)
4) Signature of an NDA

Of course, some things can be done without, like numbers one and four (if you work without the onlink code, it's happened before), but this is the general policy

Of course, there's other thing that don't require code at all, such as graphic designers or consultants. For example, right now I could REALLY use someone competent in fluid dynamics, say a physics major or an M.E. (I might have one of the latter, but I'll have to see if she's able to help me first).

Just wondering, what ever happened to that story writers position was it filled? Or was the position put on hold with the hiatus?

I'd say we probably have enough story/content people for the moment.
