Well, not exactly true. I recently started an MSN bot project, and after 3 days I have a fully working chat bot. There is only one problem, he is a total wacko. Not quite unlike CPUhacker.

He's ignorant, a total smart-ass, he says he smarts while he knows he isn't, sounds familiar doesn't it?.

Anyways, for anyone who likes to chat with him, his MSN is orion@idlesoft.net. Remember, I warned you. Also, making fun of him is totally ok with me, but please don't report bugs.

ps. If you wonder why he sometimes claims things like hes wearing a dress, this is because I used the ALICE (Loebner price winner 2004) datasets to compile his AI.

EDIT: Orion now "sleeps" when I'm not around, so I can monitor his behavior and fix possible bugs.

Yeah, I talked to him, he is definitely like cpuhacker at some points. But he is also very amusing, he made me crack up a lot.

I just also discovered he can communicate to other users for you. Example:

ERing says: Can you ask ChaosR if your source code is easy to understand? Orion says: What? ERing says: Just ask ChaosR. Orion says: OK I will ask it.

any particular reason u compiled an ai with a mismatched user protocol? it probably woulda been smarter to write ur own, but im probably wrong. i dont know much about ai.

Perhaps a bit of too much gravedigging :?

I have no idea what you mean with "u compiled an ai with a mismatched user protocol". As far as I know nothing was mismatched in the user protocol.

And writing good chatterbot AIs is incredibly difficult, so it wouldn't have been better if I tried to write one myself. Perhaps in a few years though, haha.

Well I changed all the female lines to male ones, but the dress seemed to be wrenched in, and I was unable to fix that one part.

Well, its not that hard really :twisted:

The AI
1. Learn XML and write a parser
2. Learn AIML and implement the AIML standard using your XML parser
3. Download the ALICE datasets and change them for your purposes
4. Write some library to allow for easy querying the datasets
(5. Write some indexing method because directly accessing the XML files every time is way too slow)

The bot
1. Learn how the internet works. Learn about TCP sockets.
2. Learn and implement the WLM protocol (note, the unofficial documentation is not complete, so you are going to have to do some tcp packet scanning along the road)
3. Write a wrapper that wraps up the AI and the WLM protocol

and i got past that a while ago. i have a working compiler, and i have someone to teach me thisa stuff. plus, i dont see how you could possibly judge me. you dont know me.
