Hehe, a Phenom...

*drools without noticing*

Eh, what? Oh, sorry about that. I can sometimes get a little out there when there's something cool staring me in the face. :D

It's awesome I had a s939 Opteron 170 which wasn't bad but it pales in comparison to this puppy.

My computer works fine, and I paid for it with my allowance. :D

It was around $500 or something.

Actually, I get $56 a month.

AMD Athlon 5200+ 2.6GHz -- It runs at about 2.7 though, never oc'ed.

2GB 667MHz DDR2 RAM

250GB hd

HIS ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT PCI-Express x16 512MB GDDR3 IceQ edition -- It's awesomely oc'd, it beats the gddr4 version.

HG216D - Hanns-G 21.6" Monitor, 1680x1050 resolution

Some old Altec Lansing speakers from my grandpa, with a sub

Did I forget something?

If you play games, there's no way that card could hit that resolution and make them look pretty. Also the Ice'Q cards are like silent right? I was looking at adding a Zalman cooler to my 3850 but I got a nicer case instead and it's no longer audible.

Nope, most of the games I play can hit that resolution and look pretty. I guess I just pick games that had good dev teams. :P

C2D E6750 @2.67Ghz, max OC 3752Mhz
Gigabyte P35-DS3
2GB 667Mhz DDR2 RAM
3DClub nVidia 8600GT 512Mb (passive cooling)
Antec Earthwatts 500Watt
Samsung Syncmaster 205BW (1680x1050)
320GB SATA Harddrive

Best I could get at the time (august 2007) for under 1000 euros.

@Gwanky: You would be amazed what videocards can do, only the most recent games wont work at 1680x1050 with high quality (like crysis)

Man, my rig is ancient compared to your guys'. I won't go into the gritty details, but I'm running

AMD Athlon 64 FX57 (2.8GHz, noclock.)
EVGA nVIDIA 7800GTX (I despise this card, because I have so much trouble with it. Hopefully I'll be able to upgrade to an 8800GT sometime soon, but that's not likely.)
4GB (4 x 1024MB) RAM (I forget the manufacturer, but I believe it's OCZ.)
Realtek AC'97 Audio Card (This thing is attached to the mobo by a demon-possessed umbilical cord.)
Creative SoundBlaster Audigy Audio Card (Yeah, this is the one I actually use.)
ABIT AN8 Fatal1ty SLi-compataible Motherboard (which, incidentally, sucks; I don't think I'll be able to fit a pair of 8800GTs. D: )

I got most of those parts + my case (Thermaltake Shark, black aluminum full tower) September '04. I think. It was back when nVIDIA's 7 series was still relatively new.

FinalWarrior would you be interested in trading that FX-57 + $35 for a socket 939 dual core Opteron 170?

Haha... no. Sorry. Sucker cost me nearly $1k when I got it.

(The stuff I listed above ran me $2.5k, exact, the day I bought it.)

Now, I'm willing to ditch my 7800GTX for an 8800GT, though... ;)

My rig is even worse, 1.5 ghz Pentium M, 768 mb ram, 80 gb hdd, intel 82850 IGP.... and O yah, the laptops screen snapped off its hinge so its a desktop now.

My other comp before I got this is a celeron 400 mhz, 192 mb of ram, 20 gb hdd, some old 8 mb IGP (intel)... It dosen't even support usb 2.0 lol

Both are installed with Win XP Pro (the broken laptop Ubuntu 7.10 dual boot) Slightly optimized.

The thing is the only games I play much are Starcraft BW, Diablo 2, Homeworld 1&2. They run quite nicely (Homeworld 2 at 800x600 minimum quality.

Well, if it's worse because of the wear it has, fine. But really, the Pentium M is a great processor. The only thing that worries me about that machine, specs-wise, is the graphics chipset. Lucky if you can get Darwinia to run > 5 FPS.

Ooh. That one's worse. The Celeron makes for a great medium-load server chip, but it does terribly for gaming and performance-critical applications.

Never said each piece of hardware is bad, but the system is horrible.
