I have yet to find any lightscribe disks, however.
I've got a stack of 20 of them.
I find that we don't use ours.

I don't use it, but figured I should atleast mention it. I spent so much at the time on the setup I itch to replace all my 1gb modules with 2gb modules (for 8gb of ram), my cpu with an updated quad-core and my video card with a shiny 512mb or 1gb with a decent clockrate. But I know that would break the bank and leave me without food for awhile.

Just thought of something:

First Mac Computer should be what?

Mac Mini or MacBook?

I personally recommend the MacBook Pro. Just looked the prices up yesterday, and with a college student discount, you can get a very nicely spec'd one with AppleCare for $2,128.

MacBooks are nice too, but beware, they've got Intel graphics chipsets.

Alas, I am not a college student. :(

How long until you're in college?

Yeah, no. This is something I should be worrying about, 'cuz as much as I want to, I don't think I'll be able to move my desktop over to my college of choice (assuming I'm accepted).

'Course, I won't be getting a Mac anything. Integrated graphics bothers me. Also, I'm not too familiar with Macs, having not even been in the same room with one for over three years (not out of personal choice, mind you. I have nothing against Macs [even though I admittedly prefer WinXP], it's just that I've not encountered a Mac in my many mindless meanderings since I was a freshman in high school).

I've NEVER made contact with a Mac before, I just want to give it a try. I could go down to Best Buy and test one out, but then I'd want to buy it.

He was just talking about the MacBook. Everything else has a card. I think. Even the MacBook Pro.

Yes.

I don't mind integrated graphics. 70% of the computers I have owned used integrated graphics and I managed to use them productively.

Oh. Well, in that case... sounds that much more nicer.

Actually, I dunno if I'll get one anyhow. The main reason I prefer WinXP systems to Macs is because it seems as though Windows has more vidyamagames than Macs do. (Case in point: Onlink. Granted, it's dev'd on a Mac, but there's still yet to be a Mac version.)

And yes, I understand laptops aren't the greatest gaming machines. If I were to get a laptop, I doubt I'd be doing any high-end gaming on it. I'd probably end up installing Baldur's Gate/Baldur's Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights, and San Andreas to play when I feel like procrastinating.

You can, however, play Dwarf Fortress on Mac so I don't really know why you'd want anything else.

Dawrf Fortress (2) both entertains me and scares the bajeebus out of me. On one hand, it looks like great fun (if Let's Play threads of it (such as Boatmurdered) are indicative of anything), but on the other hand, I'm not too hot with ASCII interfaces. (The apparently-painful learning curve doesn't bother me so much.)
