NSK4480 Antec Case
ECS 945 GCT-M mobo
Intel E2200 (2.2 ghz)
Zalman CNPS9500A LED CPU Fan
Kingman 2gb ram (1024x2)
LG Lightscribe DVD DL R/RW

It's not the best PC, it's not the fastest, its not overclocked, but it also doesn't crash on me every 20 minutes.

Who here wants a 42" lcd/plasma tv as their monitor? (Which means HD resolution :P).

If you want to see what I mean:

We just happen to have a 47" Vizio in our family room... :P

We've got a 50" Plasma TV mounted on our wall along with a 5.1 surround sound system. It's pretty awesome. Pretty major upgrade from the simple 40" back-projection TV. It was "high def" when it was released, but the definition of what "high definition" means has changed significantly since then. Getting rid of the back-projection TV also gave us a ton of more space.

But for computer displays, I wouldn't mind having the 30" Apple Cinema display. :)

It's fun to put DEFCON and Darwinia on a thumbdrive, go to an Apple store, and play it on their best Mac Pro with the 30" display. It's so great. They usually have a great sound system hooked up too.

Defcon would be bitchin' on a home theatre system.

I don't know if anyone has yet to beat my specs but sadly I have not seen anything lacking bottlenecks as my pc.

Specs:
AMD Phenom X4 9950 Black Edition 2.6ghz Processor
ASUS M3N78 Pro Motherboard
2x2 GB OCZ DDR2 1066 Memory
Ati Radion HD 2600XT PCI Express x16 Graphics Card
ASUS X20 SATA CD/DVD Burner
NEC MultiSync 1970GX 19" Monitor
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme Audio Sound Card
Xion 500w Power Supply
Seagate 80GB 133IDE Hard Drive
2x Seagate 500GB 3GbSATA Hard Drive

I seriously need to think of getting another 500GB drive because I am running out of space on this setup.

How does one run out of space on a terrabyte?

Oh, wait.

I don't store that suggested garbage on my pc. Most of the space is used up by images of game disks for improved performance as well as huge games. Compared to Onlink, Supreme Commander Forged Alliance is gigantic (13GB).

I was joking. I myself tend to run out of space rather regularly. In my case, the number of OSs installed on my single computer.

Also limits me a bit, since my only usable computer is a laptop. 320 GB (before shrinkage) isn't too bad.

I really want to try a move to Mac, and when I get the chance, it'll either be with a Mac Pro or a MBP.

Why Mac?
I'm not declaring a OS war here, but why do you want a mac?
As in, why ? For what reason.

In my case, the cross platform uses (obviously) and the fact that, while Macs are rather expensive, if you were to pair them to comparable hardware in a PC, the price difference isn't that much. In fact, Macs tend to be cheaper.

Of course, I'm not bourgeois enough to get a fancy macbook pro with light up keyboard like some people I know. :p

Oh, and I hate Vista. I have Vista Ultimate, so I have a right to say that; I'm not just a rabid Microsoft hater. Vista resides on a partition riddled with cobwebs for only when it's time to update or test the platform. Frankly, if it wasn't for vLite, I wouldn't be using it even for that.

Certainly, I could use a Linux distro, but I've been hacking Macs since 7th grade (using since I was...4?). So there's that (though I didn't use OS X till 10.2.x. Even I have to admit that 10.0 and 10.1 were like function and more toys).

So Miah, do you suggest getting a MacBook for someone new to Apple?

F.Y.I. My family has always been a Windows family, we do not have any Apple products in our home. (But I'm thinking of getting an iPod).

Really depends on what you want to do with it. A MacBook is definitely not a hardcore gaming machine (but then again no laptop is). For general-purpose computer use a MacBook works fine.

Also depends on your target. Personal machine? Family machine?
