Post subject:  Uplink thinks I'm using warez - linux

this is annoying I get to where I can finally crack the banks, and can see the "Free a fellow agent" missions, and then the game pulls the warez detection on me, I can re register as an agent (shouldn't it NOT allow me to do that?) also if I am disconnected from the internet and reconnect (in real life) it does it then. I installed the game under /usr/share/games/onlink and /usr/games/onlink but It doesn't make a difference, could it be that this is a 64 bit PC with 32 bit compatibility environment?

How did you buy the game? Out of box? Download from the IV site? Trymedia? Something else?

I had the same problem some time ago...
You have to put world.dat to directory where you extracted onlink.

@Miah: i did a bit of research and found that this is a problem for a few people using Uplink in Linux, and I have the cd. It might be of good interest to review the warez detection system
