We need a Linux developer with autopackage skills to help make a release for us. Once we have that, we can do a release. If I were to release a Linux build, it'd be highly experimental and not guaranteed to work. We may start with a private build. What Linux distro do you have?

Autopackage is used for building Uplink and not for the installer. (The point is to remove dependencies to specify version of some libraries, which enhance compatibility)

I guess someone could simply remove the _following_ lines from the makefiles and try building directly with gcc.
    Code:
export CC = apgcc export CXX = apg++

I asked not because I know how to do it, but because Im willing to look for someone on the Net.
I searched on the Autopackage page, but the forums are closed and the package development guide is... pretty complicated to me =S

I have access to Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty too. I'm familiar with the rudimentary GCC command syntax. As I've already signed an NDA, I'd be happy to help.

Also, fuck autopackage. We aren't using it, largely for these reasons. I'll have a tarball up soon, hopefully it'll even run.

Anyone interested in a quick Linux test this afternoon before we release 0.1.1 final?

I'm not going to download 20 different LiveCDs to make sure it works. I have several Gentoo Linux boxes here, and it works fine on all of them, but I want to see how it works on everyone else's machines, varying hardware, etc.

Seems to work nicely. I have Ubuntu 7.04 running on a AMD Athlon 2500+, 512 DDR, Nvidia GeForce4 MX440, MSI K7N2Delta motherboard. Used the 1.55 version of Uplink under the Onlink hud.

Just one thing: I could'nt use the skins on de "libs" folder, as I can on the vainilla Uplink. Any idea?
