1.55STEAM is supposed to support MODS, however when will onlink support STEAM versions?

i agree, just found this mod and can't install it due to it not recognising the steam version as a real install

I think this was in an old thread, when they made the steam version they merged 2 files together so Onlink will not recognize it.
Though if you can download that file it will work.... Onlink problem is its illegal and the file is relatively big. But if you can find it get "world.dat" put it in your Uplink folder, and install and run Onlink with "Onlink.exe" it will not be listed in steams mod section.
