I have had an 'altercation' with several members of the UplinkCorp IRC community, meaning that my appearences at #onlink and other channels there may be limited. I have been banned from #uplink, which I couldn't give a shit about to be honest. Most people there are fucksticks.

Anyhoo, ignoring who called who a pedophile and who's father was called a manwhore by who, I should still be OK to talk in #onlink from time to time.

This is actually one of the reasons we switched to irc.uplinklabs.net -- we don't have enough control in UplinkCorp to make things fair and reasonable. I think that if I visited uplinkcorp.net, they'd g-line me fairly quickly, as they have done to others.

I hope that Burningmace's said example will prove to be a case-in-point as to why we prefer to use our own IRC server.

The other possibility was irc.ecwhost.com, and I was permamently glined for expressing a preference to uplinklabs and making a comment on the downtime of ecwhost ircd.
