    Hi everyone!

I registered here because I'm currently working in a personal load/save/autosave feature packed in a standalone exe file to work with the mod together. I think this game is great but sometimes I screw my game profile (trying to do missions i can't do to giving one of many examples) because I'm not a pro and i don't like to start my profile again and again and again , specially for dumb things or wrong clicks.

For all those reasons I decided to develop a scripted standalone exe application for saving, load and restoration of profiles in game and , if enough people likes the idea, i will do the autosave feature and upload the file (With the consent of the forum managers of course).
If my work can be used for anyone to make his game easier or safer I will be happy to share this, but right now I'm not developing the autosave feature because it depends on his demand in this thread.

I will check responses to this post occasionally in case anyone needs it.

PD: Sorry for my english, thank you and good day :D

    Jrk

A lot of effort for a little work, I made some .BAT files for reset, backup and restore of profile is much simpler.
If you are interested, I'll give you the files.

I hope I'm not being too toxic in my reply. Just giving my honest opinion.

Save scumming in Onlink (or Uplink, for that matter) is ridiculous. It's like playing a roguelike and using cheatengine to get savestates. The pressure of knowing you could be arrested at any given moment is part of what made Uplink a cult classic. When you screw up, you have the resources to deal with it - the Gateway Monitor and Selfdestruct duo, for instance. If you screwed up and weren't prepared, tough luck, just start again and git good. Of course, if you're bug hunting, you get a free pass when testing something.

that won't be enough to save your agent from a game-breaking bug, though.

That's a very good point. Still, unless you're running facefirst into game-breaking bugs left and right again and again, getting back to your current state shouldn't take more than a couple of hours. Unless you're saving every number from the Telephone Number Database or something very time-consuming like that
