    1) I'm sorry, I've already posted this into bugs section, but it looks like I could get faster reply here.

Whenever I install any standalone onlink version, when I attempt to launch it, either with x86 or x86_64, it starts the console, and after a few seconds, it just "stops responding" and crashes. The last 2 lines from console says that it couldn't load the options file.

    Okay, where to start.

First of all, make sure this is the beta you're using http://ferrousmoon.com/OnlinkSetup-0.2.5.exe, it's the latest one

Second if you're using the right beta and still have that problem, try doing the good ol' "fresh install, run as admin, etc etc"... all that mambo jambo

Last, and most important: there's no good in double posting. Yes, you would be answered faster in the forums. That's because anyone can answer in the forums, as opposed to the zilla, where the only answers you'll get are from miah or mc2m, the only ones who can help with anything beyond the obvious. But for your problems to be solved you'd need miah or mc2m nevertheless, so what good comes from getting a fast but useless answer?

Thanks for reply, looks like these forums aren't death after all.

I've already tryed to reinstall it like 10 times, even deleted the folder in appdata. Still, it crashes after it couldn't find the options file. I even tryed to launch it in compatibility mod for windows XP. Looks like I can really get the most help from onlink devs.

Also, I can play one of the very old versions [0.2.0 a8]. It was still just a mod for Uplink, not a standalone game.

Also, is here anything like crash-report for the "process stopped responding" crash? I'm getting desperate

I really can't help you there. You'll have to be patient and wait for a solution from the devs.

Are you running Win7 Ultimate? If so, you could try installing Windows XP Mode and running Onlink from there. You could also go for any other VMs, but I found that XP Mode runs the smoothest.

    Try it.
delete the file "options.db" in folder
    "C: \ Users \ yourusername \ AppData \ Roaming \ Onlink"
    delete save games in
    "C: \ Users \ yourusername \ AppData \ Roaming \ Onlink \ users"
    and reinstall the software

Oops, I forgot to mention it there, it's already solved. It was caused by having non-ascii characters in user, so it couldn't acces the folder
