I've searched the entire forum for this, but apparently there isn't such a thread.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who enjoys the awesome tracks in Onlink, but I have a dilemma. All the tracks are in .uni format and try as I may, I can't seem to be able to convert them in a playable format.

Any information on this would be of much help. Thank you in advance.

Just rename the .uni files to .mod and then use CDMaster32 or any other program of choice to convert them to other formats! :classy:

Thanks a million, worked like a charm. Trying to see if I can use Audacity to get the same results.

May I ask -why- they should be renamed to .mod? Just asking to satisfy my curiosity, is all.

It's like renaming an .mp3 as .doc, for example. Some programs will read it, others won't, even if the file remains the same. If you don't rename the files to .mod, some programs will still be able to convert it, while others won't even read it as they think they don't know its format

One thing that's really bugging me is trying to work out where track 003 comes from! Thanks for the tip for converting the songs.

It's a song I remember listening to years and years ago. At first I was thinking Galactix or Skyroads, then I was thinking an Apogee or Epic Megagames song e.g. something from Jill of the Jungle. Now I'm thinking it was some kind of MOD demo or something...

It's the one played in this video at the beginning of this youtube video (can't post full link as a new user):
    /watch?v=0tL940Qy9qw&feature=player_detailpage#t=4s

Just so strange to hear it again, so it must be well known enough for someone to know where/who it's from?

Indeed, this track is great, dunno where it's from though...
PM Miah or Tycho about it, they should know!
Just... don't expect anything too soon, they've been quite busy lately.

Try asking elsewhere too, like 4chan.org/r
Post the video and ask if anyone knows where the music is from
