Please to be making sure I am functioning properly in mine brain.. I am tracking some hacker blah blah... I have to connect to a central mainframe. I understand that to do so, I need to crash the gateway. When I attempt this by deleting /sys and rebooting, the lifting server performs admirably. So then I hack the lifting server and use encrypt 7.0 on boot.sys os.sys and kernel.sys (I believe that's the names). Then I re-hack the gateway. Re-crash the gateway. It says "contacting lift server.. blah blah" and then "files are corrupt" or whatever for boot.sys and then disconnects but..... the gateway is still up and the mainframe isn't accessible... What am I missing? Other than a few more spoiler markers... |

I'm not sure if it's the "legitimate" way, but I know of another way to crash servers. I won't tell you, but I'll give you a hint: You most likely overlooked it at the beginning of the game. |

I think it is quite presumptuous for you to assume I overlooked anything. All kidding aside though, if the system reboots and copies boot files from the server but those are corrupt, it can't boot. But it still does. There is only one lifting server. Can gateways recover the original boot files from somewhere else if the lifting server is corrupt or is this one of the lifting server/gateway bugs I recall reading about? The way I'm doing it should work in theory, correct? edit... thanks for the hint that makes no sense and kind of isn't a hint at all.. Thats like saying the answer is there if you look for it. But I will look for it... |

The hint was to get you to look through the servers you start out with. You will find something. I'll give you another hint, in case you still can't find it: Ever heard of a DOS attack? Look it up. |

I am missing Denial. I couldn't remember where I found it in other games (I am using the stable a7 linux build) I've checked uplink labs a million times. Is it not included in that release? I've seen it in the most recent Windows build, but I hate the save game crash crap. DAMMIT!!!! I just want to play this game. Why is everything against me? |

I tried every Darwin Research system. Nothing. Like I said, you assumed I skipped over things.. The shit is completely gone. GONE... no denial.. So encrypting the startup files on the lifting server should shut down a gateway, though, correct? The gateway responds that the files are corrupt and boots all users off the system. |

Really? Could've sworn Denial was there somewhere... Perhaps it was the Darwin LAN? Did you check there? If you did, or that's not it, I'm not sure... |

ah... I saw this post by chance.....to search for something to defeat the gateway....... now i tried many Ferrous Moon‘s server....and find nothing....... who could tell me what's the name of that program and how to get it |
