Post subject:  Unable to open Onlink

Recently, I've decided to begin playing Onlink some more. Unfortunately, as soon as I open it, it quits.

My best bet is that it has something to do with Snow Leopard, as Onlink was working when I was using Leopard.

I think it has to do with the existence or lack thereof of developer tools on your machine, which is where CHUD.framework is from. See if installing those fixes that.

Right, I had deleted those because I needed free space at the time and someone said they weren't necessary for what I was doing on my computer.

I'll edit this post if it works.

EDIT: And now Onlink works. Hurrah!

This dependency should go.

Post subject:  Re: Unable to open Onlink

Well it's the good thing it wasn't an official release.

No shit it should go. Did you think I would leave it in a general release?

Wouldn't have surprised me ;D

EDIT: what symbol is it you're getting from CHUD? It's the thing for binding to one core, isn't it?

Post subject:  Re: Unable to open Onlink

It's just the CPUID info. It's easily dismissed outside of debug builds (though I would have liked it in release builds too. Ah well.)

Post subject:  Re: Unable to open Onlink

Just use the cpuid instruction? All the CPUs in a Mac will be the same, so you don't need to run it on a particular core.

Or you could probably grab it out of sysctl.

I should probably defer to Tycho on this. He's the one that wrote in this particular function. Hold on...

Onlink's linked against an old CrissCross. Things changed long ago.
