The ACS is driving me nuts! I know what to do to get it to accept my files, I just can't figure out how to get into the console. I have looked everywhere on this forum, but I can't find it! All I have found are cryptic hints that may or may not relate! Can someone give me an (at least somewhat) straightforward answer? Please?

"Straightforward"? From the forums?

LOL!

It'd be easier to figure out the sound of one hand clapping than to get a straight answer regarding a fancy security feature here on the forums ;)

First question, are you up to date with Onlink , and what's the login name you are using to access the ACS?

Because... IIRC, and I may not but, hey. The ACS login is bugged.

Got the same problem. At the Ferrous Moon ACS, i get the read, write & admin hashes by using the appropriate PCforce tools, so I can get into the admin menu. But because I don't have a root password/login, the Console is greyed out so I can't get in ...

If I can't get into the console, how am I supposed to validate my programs?

So it's a bug, or is there another login to be used to get root access? If so, any hints on where to look for this loginname would be appreciated (allot! :-))

I'd try to give tips here, but I don't know much about the ACS. We'd need miah for this one.

I know this one... What was it... *thinks*

We ended up using a login bug to override the "no console" one...

Ah. Enter the user/pass box, type admin, and then force a return to the login menu with the PC tools. I think. It should set the light green with no password needing to be entered.

And that would give me root powers, or well: giving me console powers :-) ? I'll check it out right now.

edit: nope.. afraid not. i connected, bypassed everything, i still had all the hashes cracked so i immediatly went to the "read xxx xxx" part, where i clicked the right button. I got the 4 "needed to be cracked" parts (password, vdpin, voice & cypherthingy). I opened up the password part, filled in admin, left the passwordfield blank and then clicked the same button as I did first, to go back to the main login with the 4 "needed to be cracked" fields. But allas, the password status was still red..

Go look through Bugzilla for the login bug... I swear it's somewhere.

If Tych/Miah have fixed that bug, but not the ACS one... Ovo

I tried searching with the following query's:
Status: all
Product: onlink
Words: root
login
console
ACS
Access Control Server
Ferrous Moon

No bug found with what I'm encountering: console being greyed out as a admin option at the Ferrous Moon ACS ...

Got any other idea's? Anyone for that matter :-)
