Ok... So I've found the VPN Key Service, and I've got the Agent program. Managed to break into the Central Mainframe, Lifting Servers, Gateway, Access Control, Internal Services, Name Server. No idea what to apply the agent program to, I figure it must be a file since that's the only thing I've used it on that makes it do anything. Sometimes it says Invalid Key, other times it just crashes the whole game (which I'm guessing MUST be a bug). I've been in all the Ferrous Moon systems, can't find any files that might be the one. I'm guessing the Access Terminals are the ones I need to route through and generate a key for (just going on the name), but I can't access any of them. If someone can give me a hint as to where to go from here, I'd be very grateful! |

Tip 1: At some point, you need to use a program basically no-one uses ever. Tip 2: Make sure the file server of the server with the VPN key generator has some empty room |

Just because no one uses it, doesn't make it obscure |

Ah, thanks to tip 2 I've gotten a little further, I've now got a file that's usable with the LAN Agent. It seems all I need to do now is figure out how the hell I'm supposed to know what values to enter for the Major and Minor Seed and I'll be in...

Chances are you normally use the Connection Analysis HUD to find out what security there is. You can't use the HUD. Find another way. You'll kick yourself when you find out. |

Ah, now I know what you need. I use that program all the time when planning. |

Heh, I NEVER used that program. Not even in Vanilla Uplink. Imagine how much I nearly cried when I found out. Staring me in the face the whole goddamn time.

*chuckles* I had a similar problem. Memorised all the console commands, so when this new build came along I was stuck for ages. >_< *facedesk* |

Ah!!! That did it, very clever that! Is that the end of the Tribute to Musana missions btw? If it is (and I've fast forwarded a fair bit now so I'm guessing so) then there might be a bug there, in that the motion sensor is now always red. They really ought to stop watching you when the mission finishes.

How does one get to the second "story" missions? I still see the generic missions even after the Revelation storyline. |

I haven't actually encountered the vanilla uplink story in my save so far. I think the new one comes within a few game days of a new profile/when you get Skilled rating. Check your emails. There'll be a proposal. |

Oh, Skilled rating? That may be why. For some reason Uplink loves randomly demoting me because I get caught when doing missions even though I delete the logs on InterNIC...sometimes they demote me twice. |

Hmmm, that's odd. If I get caught, which is rare, I normally get disavowed. You must be doing something wrong along the line. What logs are you deleting on Internic? You must delete the 'routed' log and the 'password accepted' log but you MUSTN'T delete the 'connected from' log for that connection or it looks iffy.
