Well, I figured it out. I don't know what happened the first time I tried VSEC 3.0, but I can definitely tell you that it doesn't have anything to do with time. It's basically the exact opposite of VSEC 2.0 with an additional rule. Clicking on unlit squares works as in VSEC 1.0 (or VDPIN), and clicking on lit squares locks the server, with the exception of the LAST lit square surrounded by four lit squares. However, to solve it in a low enough number of moves most of the unlit squares that you click on need to be solution squares (i.e. ones that must be toggled to solve the puzzle). You should be able to solve any of the puzzles with only one non-solution square. Or in other words, it should only take one more step to solve a VSEC 3.0 puzzle than it does to solve a VSEC 2.0 puzzle. Regardless, you'll either need a solver, or you'll need to solve the puzzle once on paper first so you know which squares are solution squares, and which aren't. |

Great, now all my VSEC 1.0 are acting like VSEC 3.0, and the VSEC 2.0 are broken: clicking on off squares does nothing, clicking on on squares locks the server. |

It seems that tackling a VSEC v3.0 causes any subsequent VSEC attempts to malfunction. This manifests as the subsequent VSECs not behaving properly (locking on lit clicks in v1.0/2.0, not allowing unlit clicks on v1.0/3.0 etc) after a v3.0 has been attempted. In addition, it seems pausing the game while a VSEC 3.0 is up onscreen sometimes causes the same malfunctions in that VSEC. I have found the only way of getting normal behaviour back is to treat the 3.0 as 'dirty', and exit/restart the game before and after tackling one. This seems to work - although it exposes another niggle, that my key mappings disappear whenever I exit/restart! But that's for another topic. |

in Onlink v0.2.0-a8 r15, CRC32 E905BEFF , write 0x00 to "Onlink-x86_64.exe"+3E7938, "Onlink-x86_64.exe"+3E78E0, "Onlink-x86_64.exe"+3E78F0, "Onlink-x86_64.exe"+3E7900, "Onlink-x86_64.exe"+3E7910, "Onlink-x86_64.exe"+3E78E4, "Onlink-x86_64.exe"+3E78F4, "Onlink-x86_64.exe"+3E7904, "Onlink-x86_64.exe"+3E7914, "Onlink-x86_64.exe"+3E78E8, "Onlink-x86_64.exe"+3E78F8, "Onlink-x86_64.exe"+3E7908, "Onlink-x86_64.exe"+3E7918, "Onlink-x86_64.exe"+3E78EC, "Onlink-x86_64.exe"+3E78FC, "Onlink-x86_64.exe"+3E790C, "Onlink-x86_64.exe"+3E791C and you're good to go.. (obviously not how it was intended to be solved)

Even better, here's a site that will explain the rules of VSEC (Mini Lights-Out) to you. jaapsch(dot)net/puzzles/lights.htm#solmini I have no idea how its solver works, so you'll just have to learn how to use the facts. I believe the lit-only rules apply to VSEC 3.0 |

@ThePhantomPhat a lot of VSEC's are not on that list, also according to the list, some of the vsecs are IMPOSSIBLE to solve within the number of moves you're allowed to use (though i guess that's a bug, the impossible ones) |

As of the latest build, all VSECs are doable. The javascript mini lights-out is a great deal of help, but the automatic solver isn't perfect - it doesn't account for the special rules in VSEC 2.0 and 3.0. So you'll have to copy the puzzle, solve it yourself in the lowest number of moves possible, and then input it into the game. Try to think of that site as a crutch instead of a cheating tool. You'll still have to solve the puzzle, but without the risk of getting yourself locked out. |

Windows version Linux version Btw, everytime mc2m launches some fixes, he updates the link version, so these links will still be valid as updates come |

Spent a little time here and there and wrote, well, not a solver but an easier way than paper/pencil. https://www.dropbox.com/s/svk0bqln0x0jv ... .xlsm?dl=0 It's in Excel and has macros (so you'll have to enable those). It's not perfect, but it's fast. It's unlocked so anyone can modify the VBA scripting or feel free to ask and I'll edit/reupload it. Oh, and thanks for Onlink and its hopefully continued support. |

Love the game, hate vsecs. Gonna give it up until there's a solution. Can't validate copied programs or take down gateways. Hating it, bye |
