- There are no 1.0 VSECs. At least to me, the dark squares are always unclicable, even with the 1.0 on top of the thing.

- Also, on the Ferrous Moon servers, the VSECs are all 2.0, there is no 3.0...

Yeah, they've been confirmed as currently bugged, and should be fixed for next release.

Until then, your safest bet is to treat them all like v 3.0, although there are additional rules for v 2.0 that can get you if you do this.

The special rules for VSEC 3 being you can only click on lit squares.

Dude, that rule is for VSEC 2...

Time, I believe I told you that VSEC was/is bugged. No matter what the screen says the level is, it can be any VSEC in the entire game.

Miah, is VSEC fixed/mostly fixed for a8?

Yeah, it occurred to me how pointless it was to discuss how each VSEC was "supposed" to work in a7, since they didn't work how they were supposed to anyways.

That doesn't change the fact you were mistaken, you know =P

Although they aren't working properly, the only VSEC we can't guess the system because of that is the 3.0

The 1.0 is the normal Mini Lights Out, and the 2.0 is the Lit-Only. The 3.0 is the one supposed to be the twisted bitch...

While that may certainly be true, I have solved every VSEC claiming to be v3.0 by treating it as lit-only with no other rules, and have solved several VSEC claiming to be v2.0 by clicking on unlit squares.

However, VSEC 2.0 have generally been squirrely in their behavior; things such as not letting me click on a lit square after clicking on an unlit square. It seemed like it would let me switch from lit-only to unlit-only (or vice versa) once, and then make me stick to my choice. It also seemed to be happier if I did the second row, third row, first row, and then last row, in that order. Treating them as VSEC 3.0 (lit-only) almost always got me through on the first try.

Unfortunately, I haven't yet found a VSEC 2.0 in my a8 game, as it's slow going using the log modifier.

I speak of course of VSEC. More specifically, VSEC 3.0.

VSEC 3 looks just like any other VSEC system, save for the version tag. However, it doesn't play nicely like the other VSEC systems.
You ain't just whistling Dixie there. So, now that we have working VSEC (*knock on wood*) here's what I've found:

VSEC 1.0:
No special rules other than you must solve it in a short amount of steps.

VSEC 2.0:
As VSEC 1.0 except that clicking on unlit squares does nothing.

VSEC 3.0:
Here's where I'm stumped. This is as VSEC 2.0, except that clicking on lit squares locks the machine. For this given pattern I have clicked on each lit square and every one of them has locked me out.
Code:
XOOO XOOO OXOO XOXX
I'm thinking that maybe which square you can click on has to do with what time it is, but I haven't gotten anywhere with that theory. There also seems to be a very limited set of patterns, which leads me to believe that there is something else special about them. The additional patterns I have seen are as follows:
Code:
OXOO OOOO XOXX XOXO OOXO OXOO OXOX OXXO OOXO OOXO XXXO OXOO

Okay, I've successfully passed a VSEC 3.0, but it was so ridiculously simple that I didn't learn anything from it:
Code:
OOOO XOOO XXOX XOOO
I clicked on the 9th square (left to right, top to bottom) at :49 seconds, and passed the VSEC, but I have no idea if the time had anything to do with that success.
