I redid the Uplink Laboratories Access Control System Hack to get to the v3.0 VSEC.
Here is what i saw and what the solver did.

Orr...... Maybe i got extremely lucky another time.... :)

This is where you try to access the console and the VSEC is armed

This is what the solver told me to click ( the purple squares )

And voila ... instant magic... 8)

LE: And as for rules, the only thing that i find peculiar about it is that you have to solve it in 4 moves or less, or it will be sealed.
The second I click a lit square the thing bails on me.

You are getting lucky. I've tried using that solver the first time any many times since then. Miah's made it harder than that.

And what if it's unlit only?

What 'thing', the VSEC or the solver ?

The VSEC. I click a lit square and it seals.

It just bugged out on me and acted like a V2 though. Maybe that's happening to you?

Plus, I get 10 clicks before it seals.

I've got a funny feeling there's a pattern involving what tile you can hit. Like, 4 clicks on unlit then 1 on lit or something.

From Hex's example, he clicked only 3 tiles and won.
Unfortunately, he didn't provide screenshots of the puzzle after each click, so we don't know for sure how it responds.

However, if I assume that VSEC 3 reacts the same to a single button push as VSEC 2 and 1 does, ie boolean switch all adjacent tiles we can start doing comparisons of what Order of button presses does what:

I'll spare you the entirety, but each combination works by VSEC 1 or 2 rules. A2, A1, and D1 work for this puzzle by VSEC 2 rules, and correspond to pushing buttons in the order of OFF, OFF, ON. So does D1, A1, A2 and D1, A2, A1. A1, A2, D1 and A1, D1, A2 are Lit-Only solutions, and since someone earlier said they got shut out hitting a lit one, maybe that's the kicker.
Code:
START: ABCD 1 1110 PUSH A2: 0110 A1 1011 D1 0000 2 0100 1001 0001 0000 3 1000 0000 0000 0000 4 1001 1001 0001 0000

Now I haven't gotten a chance to play it in-game yet to test this out, but if anybody has seen any other examples of in-game patterns and wants to test this out, that'd be great.

In the alternative, if Miah or Tycho want to just confirm I'm correct or at least on the right track, that'd be great also.

I couldn't agree more. Once it sealed after 2 (or 3, I'm not sure) clicks, and sometimes I get like 10 moves, regardless of how many moves it takes to solve the thing :/

I can't figure nothing out... yet, i've solved puzzles in which i clicked 7 times and then deactivated it, and on other ocasions, after 2 clicks it fails and seals it. All solutions are taken from the same Solver and the buttons are clicked in left-to-right reading order.

Here are sequential screenshots from a solved puzzle, this also has only 3 moves.

This is the original puzzle, as shown when i clicked to enter the console.

This is what the solver told to click.

First Click

Second Click

Final Click

...and...

Sweet Bliss :D
