First, i want to ask about hacking personal computer. It ask for voice recognition, which i don't have. Where i can get it other than public access servers? Or perhaps i should go to all public access servers, add their phone numbers, and wait until i stumble upon their personal computer?

Second, when need to frame a person for data destruction. I did like the guide said, bouncing only 10 bounces, hack, bypass, delete all files, then disconnect leaving the log as is. That was a close call to, finished deleted all files with 3 seconds left to hit disconnect button. Then i go to internic and modify the routing log to my target. After that, i waited several hours, news of data destruction pops up, but the target is not arrested. The global criminal database even say he has clean sheet. Where did i go wrong?

Third, i was asked to destroy system. Whenever i hacked those gateway, then make my way to central mainframe, the company state that they have back ups and thus i can't complete my mission. Hence, i went rampage and destroy their ENTIRE systems, back up server, gateway server, central mainframe, internal service system, and LAN. Only then i could finish the mission. My question goes to how far i need to go, was my actions are necessary to finish the job? Or was it overkilling?

Fourth, i have mission to destroy man's life.Well, i'm kinda lazy to go around and figure out what to do. Perhaps you can tell me and make my life easier? Is it make him go to jail? Or make his social ID invalid?

#1: There should be some kind of global telephone number database or something like that, look for it on InterNIC

#2: Well, it may take some time. This doesn't always work for me either, but the less bounce points I use the better results I get. AFAIK active and passive trace do not depend on each other, which means that even if the active trace was nearly completed, the passive trace still begins from your target, not where the active trace ended. I'm not sure about this one.

#3: Mmh, I'd say Gateway, Backup server and CM should be enough. I don't think LAN's are used for backups.

#4: Just modify the target's criminal record and get him arrested.

Sometimes you have to wait for very, very long time, such as for a week, I think.

For central mainframes, also hit the gateway.
For ISMs, hit the backup server.

CMs do not use EBS, and ISMs do not use Gateways. EBS is basically a stripped down version of the Gateway, for lower priority systems.

I looked at internic and didn't find it. Maybe i'll take another look.

Is it really that long? A week, i don't i can wait that long. What if i hack the global criminal database and have him arrested for unauthorized access?

Thanks for the info about ruining and destruction part. Miah, i noticed that i attain 2 rank of neuromancer rating by completing 2 "elite agent required for destruction of system" missions. I think that's too much increase, perhaps that was because i destroyed the WHOLE company system? Maybe i can increase it by destroying any random system?

Almost forgot, another question, i noticed that the www.modlink.net has extensive modification. Along it, there is LAN extension. My question goes on whether the current version of onlink include such extension or not (so basically, whether i should download and install it by myself or the developers have save me the trouble).

the LAN extentions work the same way with Onlink as they are published on ModLink

Ah yeah, for mission framing someone for destruction of data, i think you need to readjust the mission. The target should be always high security system (you can tell by the level of security system placed there) rather than average one. I waited more that one week and that person i should frame still got clean sheet. I even make double hack to make sure things work, but nothing happened. And when i do this with higher security system, it only take 2 days to get the job done.

Missions are getting a rebalence anyway. There's some new higher level systems coming into play etc.

You mean you want to get the LAN data? You can download it by yourself, you know. My only confuse is how to 'work' that LAN ingame.

My, i don't think any LAN would be different. Though i was working on Nintendo Inc LAN (i guess i was attracted by the number of system it offer).

P.S. I got caught and need to start over again Hack 2 places and forgot to delete the log. The first place took out my router, and the second my gateway. Is it possible to have 3 router in a single gateway? Will that save my ass 3 times?

You should check the debug logs. Also note that LAN files need to end with .txt

so i just need to add the phone number to that modem and it'll work out?

It work now, i can see it on my world map. But i can't access any terminal nor authentication server. Perhaps the LAN itself is poorly made?
