I'm kinda curious on how this neuromancer rating works. I used cheat engine 5.4 to find address, but can only end up with uplink rating (which is, i believe, an integer).

I was told that when you hack some corps, you'll get positive neuromancer (ie neutral to aggressive) and when you soil someone's life, you'll get negative one. I tried using 'unknown initial value' method on my first scan and use 'unchanged value' if i don't do mission and 'changed value' if i finished one, the result only wind me up to uplink rating, leaving me in wonder where the neuromancer rating address located.

Maybe Miah or Tycho can help me, what's the initial value (when you start as new agent) of this neuromancer rating? What's the data type used? (integer, float, blahblah) Is there any neutral mission which won't effect my neuromancer rating even if i complete them?

It's just an int.

If you want to find the address, find one where the rating goes up after you are nearly caught doing a hack. Your uplink rating will go down, but your neuromancer rating will go up. Corperate is not pleased, the agents would high-five you for your evasion.

We're changing this later to a multiple tiered thing.

"Information Communist" to "Archival Arson" for missions you tend to do (copy versus delete) for example. Not the names, but just to give you an idea.

Every mission effects the neuromancer rating in some way. Sometimes minor, sometime major.

umm, perhaps you can tell me the initial value of neuromancer rating? And some low level missions with their effect to neuromancer rating. It will be better if the change value is also given (uplink rating goes with difficulty, mission difficulty 3 like change DNS record add 3 uplink rating upon successful).

I'm a bit too busy to look up the incremental values for you, but the initial value is 5.

While you're on the subject, what effect does the neuromancer rating actually have? I've never really noticed. I assume it affects what missions you can take, but then again i've never been stuck for missions.

Nope, i believe it doesn't have any effect toward gameplay. It's just fun to see how the world judge your action. As for me, i think i'll want to freeze it to always increase (framing a person won't effect my neuromancer anymore). That way, i can take any missions without worrying my neuromancer rating.

By the way, although knowing the incremental value really nice, knowing what mission effect my rating still suffice. Here's what i've known about mission's effect:

stealing or deleting single data - minor positive
change DNS - still unknown
change academic record - minor negative (be it adding qualification or nerf existing one)
change criminal record - major negative (be it framing others or clearing his history)
change social record - major negative
stealing or deleting large data - major positive
destroy computer - major positive
Trace balance transfer - unknown
check financial data - unknown
catch a hacker - major negative

Any mistakes so far? And it would help to tell me those still unknown and missions that i missed.

Well that pretty much defeats the purpose.

lol, play is for fun, when a restriction annoy you, nullify that restriction :D btw, i can't save the address i added, and each time i start onlink, the address allocated to money and uplink rating change. And alas, no pointer present. Perhaps Miah can reveal me on how the data stored in physical memory?

Why don't you just look up the assembler code?
With just address you're nothing in the game hacking world.
Try to see what the write function is and try changing this (the easiest way would be just NOPing it).

Yes you are right. I'm quite noob in real hacking. Problem in NOPing it is that i don't know which code to NOP. As far as i know, in order to NOP it, you have to know where (address) the code write and then NOP it.

Pay no attention to skyblownet. You can do memory editing all you want, or you could edit the binary. There's no level of "awesome" to be found here. It's -all- mundane.

Then again, each time i start onlink, the previous memory address has been released and assigned another data. Suppose i can track the neuromancer rating now, i'll lose it tomorrow and need to search for it again in every game start. I scanned for pointer to no avail. Any suggestion?

But the Neuromancer rating isn't a restriction. It is just for fun. As far as I know, it has no bearing on what happens to you in the game world.

Indeed it is, what i'm saying is, i want to attain the highest neuromancer rating but doesn't sacrifice money as i'll need to pick which mission to take. And just editing the memory to max value is no fun, i'm planning to make mission like framing person (major negative effect) won't effect my rating at all and yet mission like destroy customer record still effect. How should i put it, to earn without restriction, i guess ==a sound strange?
