Post subject:  Is there more?

Well I finished the whole Arunmor vs. ARC thing (though I didn't have a big part in it -see below-) and now I'm wondering what to do next.

I already have all the software and the best hardware there is (yay bank hacking).

I think I hacked every type of system there is (like PCs, mainframes and such).

So, what now?

P.S.
This is another topic but it would be spamming to make another thread so here:
Firstly ARC contacted me and I accidentally deleted the mail, then I read in the news that Arunmor will be giving out missions in BBS
but I noticed that message too late because the game developed like someone else did that mission.

Then I managed to get the mission where Arunmor wants me to destroy their ISM with Revelation and the mission after it (hacking ARC LAN). During that second mission I thought their file server won't have enough room for all Revelation data so I erased the Revelation and Revelation tracker (or tracer, not sure) to make room. After completing the mission, I went to BBS to get the last one but no joy.

After I fast forwarded some and still nothing I went to News and found out that the game again played it self like someone else eliminated Revelation.

So my questions are: Why didn't I get the first missions? And Why didn't I get the last mission?

Sorry for the long post :?

Well, that's the draw of the game. If you don't do the job, someone else might. As for why you didn't get the first missions... well, you did, actually. You just deleted the ARC email (and didn't respond to it, I'm assuming). To get the Arunmor counter-offer email, you needed to accept the ARC job first.

You didn't get the last mission because someone else (AI) did it.

What now? Whatever you want.

That's a little strange.

Uplink said that they will punish everyone who takes the job from ARC, but you have to take the job to be the good guy....

What ever I want...
Are there any secret missions to do or something because I don't see the fun in breaking into central mainframes or ISMs for no reason...

You have to copy a bunch of stuff from somewhere you never thought you would be. Think about the military version of a mole and what they do and then transfer that to onlink or uplink. Any more info and i might as well tell you what to do.

I don't play the game much because of this, not much to do yet. But the team is working hard on a new storyline, so that is when I would probably start playing again.

I meant exactly as I said. You do not have to work for Uplink Corp. At the beggining you have to register to become an uplink agent, but it's more or less just a terminal rental. You have the OPTION to take missions from Uplink Corp's customers, but you do not have to. So, why bother. If youo want to take the missions, go for it. If you need to see the little email saying that your actions have raised your Uplink Rating, good for you. But if you want to see just how bad you can fuck things up in the Uplink "World", it's a far better feeling to know that you destroyed 39 companies single handedly. You will still recieve the ARC/Arunmor missions. You will still be able to accept missions. If you need some quick cash grab a mission or two, and then go knock off a bank and destroy some rich smucks life. Scroll thru the stock market system and find one thats kickin ass and hack it into the ground. Do that enough and the whole market will start to fall. Find two rival companies, buy stock in the one that's not doing so well, and hack the shit out of the other one. make a couple hundred grand in a month that way. Destroy certain systems, and you can change your neuromancer rating. Just don't start fucking with Uplink Corp its self. they dont like that. But whats to stop you from hacking every bank in the game. Whats to stop you from destroying all the central mainframes. What keeps you from destroying other people's lifes. What about other agent's lifes? Answer....nothing, absolutly nothing. So, why would you want to do things like that? Why not. If there was no law to keep you from robbing a bank, would you or would you not rob it. You would. Why? Because you can. You might not need the money but if there's nothing to stop you from doing it, might as well. Enjoy.

Do I need to mention our little discussion in the staff room, Rickton?

I rather like opportunity for sociopolitical action. Thing of it is that I would need a way to balance it out the other direction too.
