They're optimized builds of the game based on your CPU architecture, or something. SSE and SSE2 are for Intel Pentium CPUs. X86 is for AMD and anyone else, I think. -- Griffinhart |

Run Onlink and check the log output. It will tell you if your processor supports those commands. |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSE2#CPUs_supporting_SSE2 And from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streaming_SIMD_Extensions: Quote: AMD eventually added support for SSE instructions, starting with its Athlon XP processor.

If you're computer doesn't have SSE it most likely can't run Onlink, and chances are it has SSE2 as well. Do your research FinalWarrior. |

Do my research? Don't you think I did that before I posted?Quote: x86 works on any Intel or AMD processor.
viewtopic.php?f=52&t=1268SSE works on the Intel Pentium III and all later Intel processors. SSE2 works on the Intel Pentium M (and Pentium 4, simultaneously) and all later Intel processors. -- Griffinhart |

No one said they didn't. But I doubt Wikipedia can tell the OP which .exe to use. Google might, though. -- Griffinhart |

To clarify, if you have a recent processor, use the sse2 exe. |

Since a topic about this already exists in Onlink Banter, I'm just going to merge the two. Next time please use the Forum Search before making a topic! -- Griffinhart |

Also, a tip. You can get CPU-Z and check if your processor supports SSE or SSE2. |
