    Is all that swearing necessary?

In all seriousness, it's a game of lights out. The addon only allows you to play lights out.

@Pandemonium: This topic is in the wrong place. I'm moving it.

To get past a VDPIN, either solve the system by turning all the lights off (changing them to blue) or by cracking the system.

For people who are really having a hard time with the VDPIN, there is an online webpage that will let you solve it with ease. "Lights out" after all, is just a math equation which can be solved with the correct formula. If you are lazy like I am and can't be bothered to figure out the VDPIN formula, the link below will allow you to build a replica of the VDPIN in-game and will solve it for you.

    <killed with fyre -Miah>

    Directions:

Once at the webpage, change the size of the table to match that of the one in-game. Normally, it is a 5x5 grid.

Then, Press "EDIT". This will clear all the red dots away, leaving you with a "completed" version of the table. Blue is the solved color, and red are the peices that need to be changed in order to complete the formula.

Copy the board from your game to the browser (I don't mean copy/paste, I mean place a red dot in the same position it matches on the game VDPIN.), then press "PLAY", followed by "SOLVE". To the right of the board, an answer key will show up. It -should- be a bunch of 1's on a smaller version of the puzzle solver. Each one of those 1's represents a button you must press in order to solve the puzzle. It looks odd and like it will not work, however it will. You might want to copy it down on a piece of paper so you are not constantly swapping from game to browser. To this day, I have encountered no problems in the order of which I pressed them. It only changes if you have multiple colors or a bigger board (I think).

Click on the squares in each of the marked locations in game, and presto one solved VDPIN! Enjoy your ruthless-VDPIN-free hacking folks.

If you have troubles, PM me and I can explain it better.

I'm pretty sure Miah has said not to post links to places that can blatantly solve VDPIN for lazy people. (Much like how he's told us not to blatantly reveal the game's secrets, such as how to get the cheat menu, publicly on the forums.)

I might be wrong. Just sayin', so you know what's up in case your post gets edited.

    Don't. Bump. Dead. Threads.

Edit to add: When you have nothing important to contribute to the thread itself.

    This is your second warning.

I don't think gravedigs are illegal. Especially since people tend to post new topics a lot and then get shouted at for not searching first. I suspect that at least some of these people do indeed search, but find their particular question is not answered, and fear being accused of a gravedig.

I personally have no objection to re-enlivening old posts, so long as you add something substantial to it or ask about progress, or whatever. We devs sometimes need a nudge (like a gravedig) to get us working on something if there's a demand for it. Don't gravedig if you have nothing to add, though. This means you, vcordie. :)

Miah might disagree with me on this. I don't know for certain.

Connect to the Uplink Internal Services system and get the software called "SYS_VDPINView" or something similar and buy it. It'll turn those number into chase the lights game.
