Hey guys, maybe another dump Q but still wonder...
Monitor and Proxy Bypass are provided in market with highest lvl of 5, while Uplink bank is guarded by lvl6 Moni and Proxy Byp. So now when hacking for money, I have to tranfer that to some bank guarded by Moni and Proxy Byp with "normal" levels and then tranfer them legally to my Uplink bank account. I wonder if ther's any faster way to do that.

Ah, yes, this is a quite frustrating bug I ran to myself quite some time ago. Whenever there's a level x security system somewhere, a version x (or higher) bypasser/disabler SHOULD be available at Uplink ISM, but apparently this is not the case. Due to this bug, up-to-date bypassers/disablers are unavailable, forcing you to either wait for them to appear, or using a killer (sold at Uplink Research Lab (or something like that))

I think someone said this is fixed automatically if you log out and then log back in, but at least for me it actually does the reverse. If I could buy level 20 bypassers before logging out, I can only buy level 5 bypassers after logging in. Strange :-/

Anyways, you just have bad luck, since this bug only appears occasionally (with the exception of Uplink ISM which updates it's security systems constantly...). You just have to wait for the level 6 bypasser to become available for purchase, or use a killer. Or transfer legally from another account of yours, like you said.

So shortly: It is not impossible, there just aren't up-to-date bypassers/disablers available due to a bug.

The bug is that when you log out then back in the UISS resets the sold software to V5, logging out then in is the problem, not a solution. You have to wait until a newer version of the software is released in your current game.

If it is in fact a bug, shouldn't someone post it in Bugzilla?

Another thing, I thought this was fixed before.

Supposedly it was, but turns out it still wasn't.

If you're not patient enough to wait for a new version of Disabler or Bypasser, you can, as Mursu mentioned, use the Killer series of programs.

(Of course, some would say that, in the time it takes for a full set of Killers to run and take out a full set security software, a dozen or so new versions of Bypassers and Disablers will have been released.)

Actually you don't have to log out. It can happen even if you haven't logged out even once, at least it has for me.

Well, anyways the only REAL solution is waiting. Once I tried to hack Uplink ISM with killers, and noticed the killers were actually killing me >_<

The Killers just take a really long ass time. Upwards of five minutes.

And their status bars don't update correctly.

Which is a real problem when hacking the UISS, you just don't get that long with it. Especially if the monitor is the one you can't get hold of.
