    This may seem a dumb question, but the fact is I can't find it.
    - I didn't even have the "users" folder (or didn't see it);
    - I only found it after using PowerISO to create a image of the whole Uplink folder;
    - Through PowerISO, I also found the .usr file, and I decided to extract the image over the current Uplink folder (so now I can see all the files);
    - I reentered Uplink, abandoned a mission, bought new software, and exited, after which all the files remain unmodified!

    I'm using Windows Vista, and I'd just like to make a backup of my user files... does anyone have this problem?

    On XP, your user files should be located in [install path]\Uplink\user\. (Traditionally, that would be C:\Program Files\Uplink\user\.)

    I don't know how much that will differ from where Vista installs, as I have no experience with Vista.

    In Vista the files should be exactly in the same place, and I even believe they are (after all, I can see them through PowerISO).
    I just want to know what's preventing me to see them (or their modified versions).

    Well, I guess I'll uninstall and reinstall.

    EDIT:
    Problem solved. I found the answer on some other forum. It seems Vista is keeping the files on another directory, because of some compatibility mode. So the files are on an AppData subfolder.

    Woohoo, now I can backup before trying sinister stuff :mrgreen:

    Yeah, we really should add Vista compatibility.

    Windows Vista actually does have a Saved Games folder in your user's personal folder. We just haven't added the capability to figure out that directory yet, because it hasn't been a priority. Miah and I have sort of made it a point to avoid Vista whenever possible, but we dabble in it occasionally just to make sure that certain things work.

    I don't know when we'll implement Vista compatibility yet, but as long as it runs, it's low priority. I suppose if you disable that filesystem virtualization feature (the one that you saw where it moved the data to AppData), then you'll start actually experiencing errors when Onlink tries to save.
