Hi everyone,

I stumbled upon this mod today and it made me reinstall good ol' uplink. I just played a lil bit, did the low-end missions until I had the set-up to crack open a big bank account. Problem is, after the cashout I couldn't select the better software in the software upgrade screen anymore. When I were low on cash I could select, for example, Proxy Bypass until v13.0 IIRC. Now it's unlocked until v5.0 only (which I already bought to be able to hack the bank). Same with B.Monitor, Monitor, Firewall etc.
What am I doing wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong, the game just resets the version numbers when you quit Onlink (it's a bug... I think). Play for a long while (in one session) and the available versions will update to higher numbers.

Bingo, if you disconnect and reconnect to your gateway the maximum version you will be able to get is V5. It will correct itself when the Uplink Internal Services System gets a new version, at which point the available software will jump from V5 to whatever version is the latest.

A silly bug, which should be easy enough to correct. Just include a check on logon as to what the UISS currently is, and set the maximum available software to that. Hopefully we'll see it sorted in the next release.

Can you just press the 3th fast forward button to get this faster?

Yes, but it can still take a while.
