Post subject:  Onlink Legacy vs Latest Onlink

I have spent 15 minutes using the search feature and have yielded nothing, so here's my topic.

I notice that there is (apparently) many many more software and hardware addons in the legacy onlink than the latest build. However, if I remember correctly, when I used to play the old onlink, a lot of this software really wasn't working. Is the latest stable version basically a revisited edition, where only the stuff that actually IS working and useful still in the game, while the stuff which is not complete removed from the public versions? Or am I missing something?

Side question: What mod had the Mass Log Deleter? I remember that being my favorite tool by a long shot for cleaning up logs fast and securely.

The latest versions of Onlink are a total rebuild of Onlink. New versions contain working (or mostly working) additions, unlike in legacy Onlink, which had a lot of "placeholder" additions. While Miah (and the other devs) will probably implement legacy Onlink ideas in latest Onlink builds, I dunno if everything from legacy will be featured in latest.

Summary: Latest Onlink is a total rebuild of Onlink, done by the (more-or-less) same team that did legacy Onlink. It is not "working things from legacy Onlink", though it seems like it.

As for your side question, je ne sais pas; the only mods I ever played were FBI and Onlink, and neither featured such a thing (to my knowledge).

It was the Log Nuker in Simply Uplink. It did not work, because it deleted the connection log.

Not quite, it worked quite well for me with the exception of ultra high security systems.

My opinion is that the current Onlink runs great and is tons faster than Uplink or legacy, but Miah, Tycho, and the rest of the team are implementing new features slowly, which is a pain, but at least we know there won't be as many problems as in legacy.
