We're bringing Onlink IRC back to life, and moving to a different IRC network. We'd been hosting our own IRCd, but we decided it was too much micromanagement to deal with the IRCd, web server, forums, etc, etc, etc.

So now, appropriately, our IRC access information:
Server: irc.2600.net:6667
Channel: #onlink

It means you shouldn't be connecting as root from your Linux box.

Ha ! except that I'm using Trillian for Windows XP to connect... I just changed the "User" field to "luser" instead of "root" and connected...

What client do you use? I use X-Chat 2 (the free one), and it works fine. Of course, you might use a linux client...

Well, IIRC there weren't many people on the channel even at the time Onlink's development was started (or announced, dunno which)

We have trouble maintaining an IRC channel because so few people are interested. So, yeah, we still intend to meet on irc.2600.net, but it doesn't happen often enough.
