- I search for "network access server" (in internic)
- I search for anything linked to the same company (in internic)
- and now.. what is the # symbol in the upper left of the screen?? maybe it's provided by a button ( :/> ) I dont have, where can i buy it??

EDIT: I've tried the previous, current and beta onlink installed by the latest online updater

EDIT2: dont mind, I've figured it out, I mean, I found how to find isp name servers.. BUT please, can u explain me what that button ( :/> ) does and where can I buy it?

I believe that button is part of the cheats that Miah uses for beta testing. It seems to skip the log in process. FINDING the 3 name servers is not the probelm, the problem is it seems not everyone is on them.

mmm it's not fair to allure us with these decoys.
Anyway as seen in another video, if I remember correctly, the ( :/> ) button might be there to access the gateway admin panel.. am I wrong?

Somewhat ironically with me it's Miah Clayton.

I have the same problem.
Does this mean, there is no chance to get other ISP nameservers and/or get the IP of the person you are looking for, without checking all IPs manually?

Well, not "no chance", but no chance within the game. If I get stuck like that I use a memory reader to find the IP address. I don't feel it's cheating since as far as I'm aware, it's not possible to do so in game due to the bug.

You couldn't possibly check all the IP's manually. 256 ^ 4 is 4294967296! If it took you 5 seconds to try each one you'd be there for over 680 years (if you worked constantly)!

That's assuming of course, that Onlink doesn't have an internal restriction on IP addresses and generates them randomly.

What is this "memory reader"? Some savegame editor? Where do you get it?

There are lots of different ones, personally I use "ArtMoney". It doesn't edit savegames, it edits memory values directly while the game is running, or in this case, allows us to read them.

http://www.artmoney.ru - Available for free.

Enjoy!

Sure no probs, here's a step by step:

1. Run Onlink and load your save
2. Run Artmoney
3. Click the 'Select Process' box and select "Onlink"
4. Click Search
5. In the value box, type "Tom Wallace" (without quotes)
6. In the type box select "Text"
7. Click "ok" (it'll probably find a fair amount).
8. If you look between the two frames, one filled with addresses and one empty you'll see two arrows. Click the green one.
9. Left click on the first result in the newly filled frame to select it.
10. Press "Ctrl - M", or right click the value and select "more", then "search" then select "Search in the memory block"
11. If it's the right result, the text on the top lines of the memory values (to the right of the hex) should say Tom Wallace's Personal Computer. If not, try the next result. It's usually the first one though.
12. If it's right, just scroll up a couple of lines in the window that just opened and you should see the IP address right above the name.

EDIT: Just saw your edit. Ah well it might help others, I'll leave this here.

I just bumped into this problem.
Although I solved it with ArtMoney (thanks for the instructions Sabranan), I think I saw my target's name in one of the ISP's. The search just didn't stop when it was reached, and kept going.

Weird...

Hello everyone,
just a quick post to say that the bug is still present.
I've checked all 3 name servers and I didn't found my target on any of them.

Anyway, great work Onlink, I played a while ago and it wasn't stable and beautiful as now.
Good work guys!

The bug is still present because there have not been new builds of Onlink released since 0.1.2Final (therefore, there have not been any bugfixes released).

Heh sorry to necro an old post but i found something quite funny while doing one of these missions.

The guy i was suppose to bankrupt (ie close his account) had 3500 in loan and 318 in cash. So to bankrupt him i appereantly have to payback his loan minus his cash?

Mmyep. Sounds like a bug that should be put up on Bugzilla. Bankruptcy should <= 0 credits, not == 0 credits.

EDIT: Fixed my goddamned less-than marker. I really ought to proofread before hitting "Submit"...
